MEMORANDUM
To:Emergency Medical Services Constituency Groups & Interested Parties
From:Carl Lindberg Memorial Scholarship Committee
Date:TODAY
Subject:Scholarship Applications and Information
Since the 1970s, Nor-Cal EMS has awarded Carl Lindberg Memorial Scholarships to many outstanding members of the EMS community, helping make it possible to obtain costly advanced training. We are pleased to announce that one or more scholarships will once again be awarded to persons in the region seeking training to become an EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse.
Although the amount is not yet set, each scholarship is typically several hundred dollars. The funds may be used to help defray the costs of tuition, books, supplies, travel for class and internships, and other related expenses.
Complete information and the application form are available on the Nor-Cal EMS website at Those without Internet access may contact our office to have these faxed or mailed to them. Those interested in receiving one of these scholarships must return a completed application no later than 5:00 P.M. on the first Friday in March of each year.
We look forward to recognizing more of the very special men and women who contribute so much to quality emergency care in northeastern California, and appreciate your support.
For those who might like to contribute to the scholarship fund, a donation form is included with this package.
Thank you.

The Carl Lindberg Memorial Scholarship
Benefiting those in the Nor-Cal EMS area expanding their EMS skills
The Carl Lindberg Memorial Scholarship fund was established in the 1970’s in honor of the first director of the Northern California EMS agency. Scholarships are awarded annually to members of the Nor-Cal EMS system who are pursuing studies as EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, or Mobile Intensive Care Nurses. Recipients must live in a county contracting with Northern California EMS, Inc.
Recipients typically have made exceptional contributions and personal sacrifices in the EMS field for many years, often as volunteers. The scholarships are used to help defray the costs of tuition, books, and the extensive travel often necessary to complete advanced training and internships. In many cases, these people receive no other financial assistance or compensation.
Scholarships are funded by investment dividends paid each year on the scholarship fund. All contributions go directly to help provide more substantial and numerous awards to this extraordinarily deserving group of men and women. Because contributions are added to the fund’s principal, each will continue to support improved emergency medical care in northeastern California for years to come.
The scholarship fund is administered by Northern California EMS, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation. All contributions are tax deductible.
