Job Title: Commercial Consulting ArboristDepartment: Commercial Division
FLSA Status: Exempt, Commission BasedReports To: Commercial Division Manager
Description: Responsible for selling commercial arboricultural services
Accountabilities:
Sales goals:
- Meet or exceed annual sales goals as identified by the Division manager
- Meet Company’s Service Goals (RPH, Treecare, Prunecare)
- Retain and increase sales within existing clients
- Review weekly commission reports and Consulting Arborist plan to track progress against goals
- Utilize call back strategies to increase closing rates
- Incorporate prospecting methods as laid out by division manager
- Implement sales plan as laid out by division manager
Client Management:
- Provide recommendations for all applicable services
- Identify client perceptions and set clear expectations with clients
- Map client properties and update on 2 years cycle
- Follow pricing guidelines and minimum charges
- Follow up with proposals within 7 days of origination date
- Follow up with client calls within 24 hours
- Perform follow up site inspections after work is completed
- Perform service calls to client to ensure work completed meets expectations
- Provide customer complaint resolution
- All proposals be rejected or re-proposed after 90 days
- Log all client contacts(e.g. follow-up calls, etc.) in White Oak
- Assist Accounts Receivables with delinquent accounts
Spring Letters:
- Review and update all active client folders by February 15th
- Update maps, DBH’s, sq. ft, Arborist assignment, re-propose/reject outstanding proposals, etc.
- Accurately price all proposed work by using current pricing sheets as a guideline
- Have letters ready to print by February 15 of each calendar year
- Review all client files by February 15 of each calendar year
- Personally call back all letters within 14 days of being mailed and log contact in White Oak
Marketing Duties:
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing primary client generators
- Visit established PCG’s at least once per month
- Participate in activities (e.g. tree sales, City programs, educational sessions, etc.) with PCG’s
- Develop educational programs for PCG’s
- Coordinate targeted marketing activities with the division manager
- Fulfill educational requirements as dictated by the division manager
Proposal and Work Order Quality:
- Determine level of service client wants before developing a plan
- Accurately map and measure all relevant trees an shrubs
- Communicate client perceptions and expectations in work orders
- Accurately price work by using the current pricing sheets as a guideline
- Provide clear, decipherable and consistent job instructions
- Clearly identify equipment needs and special services (line drops)
- Communicate effectively with schedulers regarding special circumstances
- Enter all proposals into White Oak within 48 hours of on-site visit
- Maximize no-callswhen accepted work is under $1000.00
- Review work orders weekly and address crew comments and/or client issues
Other:
- Complete and turn in Mileage Reports by the 10th of the following month
- Formulate annual and 5 year plan for educational advancement with Science Director
- Be knowledgeable of purpose, methods, and costs of all RTC services
- Present a positive image of the Company and follow established policies

Qualifications:
Education: BS in Urban Forestry or related field
Experience: 5 years sales experience and general plant knowledge
Driver’s License: Class D
Other Certifications: ISA Certified within a year
Work Environment: Field and office
