1. Come to class on time.Standing outside the door and rushing in after the bell has begun to ring will constitute a tardy. You must be INSIDE the door when it begins ringing to be counted on time.
  2. Get the materials you need for the day and/or the project you have been working on within 1 minute after the tardy bell.Be in you seat within that one minute and ready to begin work. Please do not wait for me to remind you to begin since I need to take roll and attend to other duties for the first few minutes of the period. When I begin class there must not be a delay while we wait for someone to be seated.
  3. Attend to personal needs before coming to class.I have been instructed not to give passes to lockers and to limit passes, so please do not ask for a pass unless you have a true emergency.
  4. In the event you have an emergency you are to sign in and out on the class sign out sheet. If allow your name appear on the sign out sheet more than once a six weeks you will be choosing to be assigned an afterschool detention.
  5. Remain in your assigned seat unless you have permission to get up. Throw scraps away at the end of the period on your way out.
  6. Do not drink, eat candy or other food in class unless you have been given special permission from Mr. Swinney do to a medical condition. .
  7. Bring required materials every day or keep them in your class’ assigned locationunless you are otherwise directed.
  8. Talk only when permitted.Be aware of the situation! Talking is not permitted unless I tell you quiet talking is allowed in a specific situation of in a specific class discussion speaking to the entire group without raising your hand is allowed for that day’s work and I have allowed it. If you are not sure…ask. I will remind you once and expect compliance.
  9. Use polite speech and body language.Unkind teasing and impolite behavior is unacceptable.
  10. Tobacco is not allowed in your mouth.
  11. Gum does not go under the desk….keep it in your mouth until you can put it in the trash.
  12. Do not cheat. Students caught cheating on a test will receive a zero and the grade will not be made up. All parties evolved will receive a zero.
  13. Follow the teacher's directions immediately. Keep me happy and I'll do a better job for you!
  14. Keep your work in progress in your class’s work in progress box.
  15. Never at any time try to hand your assignment to me. Turn in your assignments for a grade in the turn in box marked as such on the cabinet by the flags. Never turn in your work to the teacher’s desk or work area. It will be considered not turned in.There is ONLY ONE PLACE TO TURN WORK IN and not just anywhere you want to throw it. Do not expect me to take your work outside of class.
  16. Do not ask to leave the classroom. Go to the nurse, the restroom, the office etc….during the break. If you go to the nurse of office…get a note.
  17. Do not turn in your work late. 10 point penalty for three days then it is a zero.
  18. If you know you will be out for any reason because of your participation in any other class, student activity, athletics, band…..then your work must be turned in before you leave or it is late and will receive a 10 point penalty up to three days. After three days it is a zero.
  19. At the end of the period you are to put your things away leaving nothing out.
  20. Clean up anything that is out of place regardless of who did it and put things away dry. The room must be clean before you leave.
