The IMMERSION PROGRAM at the high school level aims at developing, in the Anglophone student, the ability to comprehend and use the French language as a communication tool in various daily life situations (N.B. curriculum guide).

Your son/daughter has been asked to translate and read this part to you. By signing, he/she accepts the responsibility to follow it. We are hopeful that students will comply with FRENCH ONLY IN THE CLASSROOM. Disciplinary actions will be taken for those who fail to speak French. With your support and encouragement, your son /daughter’s ability in French will improve significantly.

Dear parents and students of LHHS Science: January 2015

The safety of our students in science labs and using lab equipment is top priority at LHHS. To ensure the students safety in the lab, students are trained in proper safety procedure, general fire safety, and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System). Students must write a safety quiz that has a required pass mark of 75% before they are permitted to participate in labs.

A second requirement of our safety program is the signing of the safety contract (see below). We ask that you read these guidelines and show your support for your son or daughter by signing the contract.

Thirdly, students are asked to pay a $2.00 lab fee to cover the cost of consumable goods for the semester.

When all of the above are complete, your son or daughter will be able to participate fully in the lab component of their Science course.

Thanking you for your support,

Mr. Brent Jewett, Science SPR
