FRANCISCO RANGEL
What is appreciated most in Rangel’s work is not primarily the topographical precision (though this also exists) but the atmospheric qualities he imparts, the pattern of moods created by the way a sympathetic stranger sees something which, for natives, may well be muted by over-familiarity. Rangel brings a fresh eye and an enquiring mind to each place he paints, particularly London, thus enriching what the eye can see.

STATEMENT
“Being an architect, I am particularly aware of what the architecture of a city can reveal about its society. I feel this is particularly strong in London which, to me, appears to be in constant evolution. London bridges are the fingerprints and the witnesses of London’s life and this is what is very attractive to me.”
