COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Geometry course is devoted primarily to plane Euclidean geometry, studied both synthetically (without coordinates) and analytically (with coordinates). The content engages students in a variety of mathematical experiences which may be applied to real world situations.
SUPPLIES:
1. Composition Book
2. Pencils and erasers for completing assignments. Pens for checking work only.
3. Colored Pencils –may be needed from time to time.
4. $10 Math Dept Improvement Donation (for all Math Dept Students)
NOTE: Cash or Checks made payable to PHS
CLASSROOM NEEDS:
We always need Kleenex, Paper Towels, Lysol/Clorox Wipes, Copy Paper (white or colorful), and Expo Markers. These items are ESSENTIAL for our classroom.
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS: You are expected to follow the behavior rules and guidelines outlined in the handbook. You can do this by remembering the following:
• Respect yourself

• Respect your classmates
• Respect the learning process
• Respect school property
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:
• Food and drink is not allowed in my classroom.
• You must be in your seat when the tardy bell rings.
• Cell phones, mp3 players, and headphones are NOT ALLOWED.
• Makeup work for excused absences is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

GRADING POLICY:
Grades will be calculated on a 60/40 split.
Major grades count 60%. Activities in this area can be tests, projects, and notebooks.
Minor grades count 40%. Activities in this area can be quizzes, homework, classwork, or other assignments.
GRADING SCALE;
90-100 = A 60-69 = D
80-89 = B 59-below = F
70-79 = C
