The Paschal Mystery
Reader:“Whenever we take a step towards Jesus, we come to realize he is already there, waiting for us with open arms.”
The Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis
For whom shall we pray….
Our time to lift those petitions that are heavy in our hearts.
Psalm 95: We all pray together the antiphon:
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD;
let us acclaim the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us joyfully sing psalms to him.
R. If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the LORD who made us.
For he is our God,
and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides.
R.If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Oh, that today you would hear his voice:
"Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,
Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me though they had seen my works."
R.If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Meditation Moment:As our Lenten journey is underway, now is a good time to pause…and to reflect how we are living out the Paschal Mystery.
- Where am I living out the Paschal Mystery? How am I experiencing the small deaths and resurrections of my daily life?
- How are these moments impacting my relationship with our Lord Jesus?
- How is our school community celebrating Lent? Are these moments causing us to take those steps to be closer to our Lord Jesus?
- How can we make the final weeks of Lent even more intentional to help our students move closer to our Lord Jesus?
Closing Prayer (together)
Loving Father of mine,
I feel the pace quicken, the time draw near.
I am filled with joy as I move toward Easter
and the promised reconciliation with you.
Teach me to follow the example of your Son,
to be worthy of being called one his people: a Christ-ian.
Help me to live each day as he did
turning hatred to love and conflict to peace.
I await the new life with eagerness, faith,
and deep gratitude.
Amen.
