We have purchased a vehicle which was released from MOD service which was not supplied (from MOD Disposals Contractor, Withams Specialist Vehicles) with the appropriate 654 paperwork which is required by the DVLA to register the car.

Can you please help in providing a copy of this paperwork.

The vehicle in question is a Mercedes G500, Chassis Number: WDB4632481X135607

I am treating your letter as a request for information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence (MOD), and I can confirm that information in scope of your request is not held.

However, I can advise you that when a MOD Form 654 is not available, the MOD can issue a Date In Service Letter which is accepted by the DVLA in lieu of the aforementioned form for a fee of £25.00 per vehicle. If you wish to use this service please send a cheque, together with theMake/Model of vehicle, Military Registration & Chassis number to:
