Travel to Kalamazoo with the Friends of Kresge

Please join us for this magnificent day trip to Kalamazoo. See glass in a whole new light at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts! Currently, this is the only major exhibition of work by Dale Chihuly, the premier glass artist working today. Tour the exhibition and see how he transforms the museum with an unforgettable collection of glass designed exclusively for Kalamazoo. Before our docent-guided tour, we will watch a glass blowing demonstration presented by the Corning Glass Road Show.
After the tour, enjoy lunch at MSU’s well-kept secret, Brook Lodge Resort in Augusta. This once-private estate belonged to W.E. Upjohn, founder of the Upjohn Company. Purchased by the company in 1956 and used as a company retreat, it was recently donated to MSU. It is now a full-service resort on over 600 acres with beautiful gardens, cottages, a carriage house and grand dining hall decorated as it was in the Upjohn era.
Day Trip Cost: $65 per person for Friends of Kresge; $75 per person for the general public. Trip price includes transportation, admissions, guided tours, and lunch at Brook Lodge Resort. Our motor coach will depart promptly at 8:45 a.m.
Meeting location on MSU’s campus will be sent to trip participants
in confirmation letters or by e-mail.
We will return to East Lansing at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Reservation deadline is November 5.
No refunds will be made after this date. Our tours fill fast. Please respond quickly!
Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements. Also, we are happy to arrange for wheel chairs if needed, but we regret that we cannot provide physical assistance with chairs.
