3.  Follow-up on OLD BUSINESS –

Pictures of PPC members and current minutes are now up on the new bulletin board in the Narthex. Some titles need to be changed. Possible new members announced at masses and in bulletin.

  (1) Post-secondary young adult member (not necessarily in college and university, but of that age) as well as (2) a regular adult (possibly focusing on building and maintenance) needed for council. We welcome new members Samantha Galipeau (Young Adult, 2 years) and Larry Woods (3 years) who is an usher.

More pamphlets put out in pews for parishioners to use or take. Must remind Vince not to remove from pews.

4. Pastor’s Report – Father Ted- Evaluation/Brainstorming on Community-building

After the Parish Mission, there was a follow-up on two things that need to be worked on within our parish - one on youth, and the other on community-building.

The parish will hold a brainstorming meeting for any parishioners to put forth ideas on how to build up our community; hopefully those who can attend will form a sub-committee. Date: Sunday June 24th, in between the two Masses.

5. BUILDING Maintenance Report – Charlie andFather Ted -

Roof leak happened, so there is a push to have repairs down as soon as possible. Repair is approximately $5,000 for parish hall and the sacristy flat roof is $28,000. Agreement to go ahead with roof repairs. Fr Ted will call either P.J. Daly who did the original roof or get another estimate.

Quotes and designs for concrete steps, shrine and landscaping by a few different contractors were presented for review by PPC. Charlie will provide one more quote from Oakridge Landscaping. Some beautiful designs were provided by Cedar Springs with solid stamped concrete steps for the front as well as for the prayer garden.

Motion to hold off on the front steps in lieu of the roof and see if prayer garden can be done with the help of Mr. McNamara and volunteers; shrine of Mary is arriving shortly and advertising of engraving stones to be done at Sunday mass.

6. FINANCIAL stewardship report - Tony Financial Situation, any updates.

96.3% of pledges are in which is fantastic, open for another 4-5 months.

All advertisers are presently paid, looking again for repayment in September.

Bank balance is about $66,000 and like to have $30-$40,000 on hand.

9. Developing the Youth Music Ministry - Fr. Ted and Rachel and others- Supporting the growth and developing of the youth music ministry; getting more youth-oriented and livelier music combined with other instruments such as guitar and drums. Want to take the present choir to go and see other groups at churches for inspiration and ideas. Update from last meeting.

Youth choir went to St. Patrick's with the girls sitting in on a practice. The girls were able to pick out songs they like to song and hear St. Patrick's rendition with various instruments. Over the summer, the choir will experiment with different sounds and instruments before September. Still looking for members.
