Lima City Schools Summer School Programs 2014

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

The Lima City Schools Summer School Program receives no financial assistance from the Lima City Schools general fund. The Summer School program is open both to Lima City students and to students outside the district.

Enrolling in summer school requires a commitment both on the part of the students attending class and on the part of the students’ parents. This commitment involves the cost of the tuition as well as the effort to ensure the daily attendance and completion of the assignments. This may mean delaying vacations, altering student employment, or providing transportation to and from school. The Lima City Schools Summer School Program demands no less than total commitment.

Students must attend classes regularly. Students must also follow rules during their enrollment in the program. They are as follows:

  • Maximum 1 absence (tardiness of more than 10 minutes will be counted as a full absence).
  • 1-10 minute tardy equals ½ an absence.
  • No smoking on school property.
  • No cell phones, iPods, or other electronic equipment will be permitted in the building.
  • No personal checks for tuition.
  • Since classes for credit recovery only (to gain the credit of a failed class), the student’s Guidance Counselor’s signature is required for class registration.
  • School appropriate clothing must be worn while in attendance at LSH Summer School. Please review the Lima City Schools dress code (attached to application).
  • Each teacher reserves the right to remove any student hindering the learning process and this removal will count as an absence.

Tuition

  • OGT classes are $20.00 per test. Limit 3 tests.

(OGT classes are not for high school credit. They are to fulfill the 10 hours of additional instructional per tested subject required by ODE to take a summer OGT).

  • Summer School classes are $80.00 per class for Lima Senior High School students and $95.00 per class for all other students. Limit 4 classes.
  • Tuition is due in FULL at registration.
  • Cash or money orders (payable to Lima City Schools) are accepted. No personal checks will be accepted.
  • There will be NO refund of tuition unless the class is cancelled. We must have a minimum of 12 students to hold a class.

FOR OGT: If registration is mailed in, it must include payment and be received by June 2.

FOR SUMMER SCHOOL: If registration is mailed in, it must include payment and be received by June 13.
