HURLING

The intermediate hurlers will face Tullogher-Rosbercon in their third round game of the Michael Lyng Motors Intermediate Hurling League in Clara on this Saturday afternoon at 4.00 p.m.

The junior A hurlers lost out to Young Irelands in the semi-finals of the Northern Junior A Hurling League in Gowran on Thursday night last. The locals led by 0-10 to 2-3 at the half-time interval but the concession of three further goals proved to be their undoing. As it was, they fought to the end but the Gowran men secured the victory on a 5-11 to 1-13 score line.

The under-16 and under-14 hurlers were also defeated by Piltown and Mullinavat respectively in their most recent games in the Duggan Steel Leagues. The under-16’s showed great heart against an excellent Piltown side but the Southerners won out in the end by 1-18 to 0-12. The under-14’s were also up against a very strong Mullinavat team and despite Conahy’s best efforts, their opponents were far too strong in the end.

CAMOGIE

The Under-14 camogie girls secured a good win over St. Lachtain’s (Freshford) in their fourth round league game played in Jenkinstown on Wednesday night last. After a tough battle all through, the local girls won out on a 2-8 to 2-3 score line.
