No Quorum, but the group discussed the following items:
CECI Grant Proposals:
Jim Heck gave an update on the CECI grant proposal with WTVW/Ivy Tech. The groups have worked out the fiscal agent logistics and WTVW has started working on the vignettes. Vectren Energy has shown and interest in the initiative. They will help contact businesses for possible success stories. WTVW plans to attend the next meeting in July to show the first vignette. Metrics will be reported.
Ivy Tech grant was not submitted due to some reworks. The grant will be ready to submit in the second round, which is due January 5, 2015.
Works Council Chairperson Meeting:
Marketing would like to see a broadened message regarding the Works Council by the groups assigning an individual as Awareness / Communications Officer. The officer would attend community meetings to educate others on the Works Council and initiatives. Dana Carter will help with the communication package. The group asked Jim Heck to be the officer, Jim accepted.
Occupational Demand / Supply Data:
Works Council must submit a listing of major suppliers or feeder groups for skilled employees. Angie Sheppard and Jim Heck will work on the listing and submit to Sue.
Council Member Resignation:
Bill Doty has resigned from the Works Council. Sue has been given a recommendation of Mike Keene from Babcock & Wilcox. Jim Heck mentioned his workforce awareness and agreed he would be a good candidate. Sue will contact Mike prior to Jackie Dowd sending a nomination letter.
Public Comment:
CELL / EWIN Event is scheduled for July 8 in Indianapolis.
