Initial setup for Siebel 7.5

1.  Open your Internet Explorer application, and under the Tools menu choose Internet Options

2.  In Internet Options screen, choose Connections tab.

Click on button LAN Settings.

3.  In LAN Settings screen, make sure you have a Proxy server address (if not, see your IT Network contact person).

Make sure there is a checkbox in the “Bypass proxy server for local addresses

Click on the Advanced button…

4.  In the Proxy Settings screen, DO NOT CHANGE PROXY ADDRESS!

In the bottom area marked “Exceptions”, copy the following line (including the semi-colon)

; crm-hq.Advantech.com.tw

and paste this at the end of any entries in the Exceptions field.

5.  Click the OK button in Proxy Settings screen,

6.  Click the OK button in LAN Settings screen.

7.  Click the Apply button in Internet Settings, then click the OK button to exit.

8. In your Explorer Address bar, copy and paste the following address:

http://crm-hq.advantech.com.tw/

9.  Now open this login page by clicking your Enter key on your keyboard.

10. You’ll see the Siebel 7.5 login screen

ENTER THE SAME USER ID AND PASSWORD AS YOU USED IN SIEBEL 7.0!

11.  Click Log In (or use Enter key on keyboard) to proceed.

12.  If you see any dialog boxes asking you to download items from Siebel Systems, you can CLICK THE BOX “ACCEPT ALL CONTENT FROM SIEBEL SYSTEMS”. This will avoid having to do this every time you log in.

13.  Once first screen opens (should be Home Page), in your Explorer under Favorites choose “Add to Favorites”.

a.  YOU MUST RENAME THIS URL TO “SIEBEL 7.5 HQ LOGIN”. Click OK to save to your Favorites list.

Now you’re at Siebel 7.5!

All data should be there (records current as of last Friday).

Please check the following first:

1.  Make sure your most important data is still there.

2.  You may need to adjust your “Columns Displayed” in List Views.

3.  Refer to the “Keyboard Shortcuts” chart sent yesterday and make sure they are working for you.

4.  Find your own Contact record (with your @Advantech.com email address), and try to send yourself an email using the F9 key. Check your Outlook in a few minutes to make sure email was sent and received; also check that same Contact record to make sure an Activity was created.

5.  Check all your screens (Accounts, Contacts, Service, Activities, Opportunities, etc.) and make sure you have access to all the views you previously had (My Contacts, All Contacts, etc.)

6.  In all screens, check your predefined Queries; make sure all queries are working.
