Group felt that INP should organise another Youth Decides before end financial year, to show YP that Board are committed to listening to them.
Projects should be to progress one or more of INP Priorities and that have a direct benefit to young people. This could be promoted until conference and decisions made at the event. Action Gavin agreed to request Board to pledge an amount to be ringfenced

Skatepark project update: Construction starts imminently. Name likely to be remaining 'drylaw skatepark' Gavin to raise at DTCC.
Children and young people are encouraged to walk more /
  • Stencil messages designed to put down in key locations.

Funding secured to design and lay stencil messages in key locations.
Group decided that this could help polite use of shared pathways with messages such as “watch your speed please” in a fun way. Mark to discuss with his cycling group and messages from Living Streets Community Audits should help inform this. Action Mark

Discussion =re anti social behaviour and young people – feeling that any information local community councils / youth workers get is often out of date or not useful. Request to get regular crime stats from Ruth to aid youth staff deployment etc. Action Elaine - Police to be invited to attend.

There is still a desire for a ‘battle of the bands’ type event, possibly outdoor and also desire for outdoor cinema to screen films / sporting events. Ongoing

Hal raised idea of School uniform donations (new) like food bank model, to aid families in need. Group agreed it would be worth finding out more about need and also practicalities of such a project. Agreed that it might suit a venue such as Saint Stephens Action - Callum and that HTs would be in best position to identify need. Gavin to take to NP Action - Gavin

Roy reported that work is progressing to schedule in Skatepark development and hoped for mid/end December completion date. Looking for some skateboard ‘experts’ to help launch the project.Mark to put out feelers around Saughton users.

Callum reported that Floras have started a road safety group in light of recent accidents. Callum intends to attend and will update this group. Action Callum
