In math students finished Unit 3 on measurement and took the unit assessment. We are at the end of Trimester 1 and Unit 4 Multiplication will begin next week! Please make sure you are practicing basic math facts (addition and subtraction) with your child to help build fluency. We will begin timed math drills soon! There are plenty of math apps, websites and printable flashcards available for additional practice. Check out our resources page for links (Arithmetic Drills). / In science, students learned how engineers plan, build, test, and retest their design to solve a problem. In Social Studies the students learned how important natural resources are, ways to protect them, and why some are nonrenewable.
We continued to learn about the voting process and are excited to announce our second grade president is Tait Gilbert and vice president is Dylan Quigley.
