NAR’s Green Designation Application Procedures
Congratulations on taking the steps to earn NAR’s Green Designation!The Green REsource Council (GRC) would like to take a moment now to explain the application process for NAR’s Green Designation and answer some frequently asked questions.
Requirements for the Designation
Before the GRC can award you the Green Designation, we must receive the following:
- Proof of completion of NAR’s Green Designation courses: Green 100, Green 200, and Green 300. Make sure you have taken the courses and passed the respective examinations. Your course provider will send your class’s information and examinations to the GRC where the GRC will process your course information. We appreciate your patience, as this process can take between 2 and 3 weeks.
- If you take your coursesonline, you will receive a certificate of completion from REALTOR® University for each course via email; please send us any completion certificatesfor online courses, along with your designation application found on GreenREsourceCouncil.org.
- Application packages can be e-mailed to (which is preferred!), faxed to 312-329-8632, or mailed to the Green REsource Council at 430 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60611. **Please note that all contact information is pulled from your NRDS record and not your application! Please check your NRDSprofile to ensure accurate email and address information.
Once you have submitted your entire application package, we will review your application within one week and contact you if we require any additional documentation.
Once your application has been approved, you will receive an e-mail from the GRC congratulating you on being awarded NAR’s Green Designation. The date on this e-mail is the date of your Designation. This e-mail will also have login information for the member services portion of our website, which contains a variety of cvaluable benefits for NAR Green Designees. Look for customizable press releases and presentations, logos, professionally crafted marketing materials, and much more!
Please note that you will not receive login information for the website until you have been awarded NAR’s Green Designation; Only Designees have access to this portion of the Web site.
Within 3-4 weeks of your date of designation, you will receive your Green Designation Member Kit with certificate, lapel pin, letter of congratulations, and other materials. All Green Designation kits will be sent directly to Designees at your preferred mailing address as it appears on NRDS.
Please note that you do not have the Designation until you have received the confirmation e-mail from the GRC congratulating you on earning the Designation. Once you have been told by the GRC that you have the Designation, you may begin marketing and notifying your community of your accomplishment. Any improper use of the Designation, logo, or marketing materials, including use of the Designation before receiving approval by the Green REsource Council, is a violation of the bylaws of your Local Association and the National Association of REALTORS® and can subject you to sanctions.
