MINUTES OF THE CHURCH BUSINESS MEETING

October 17, 2010

The meeting was called to order by Greg Powell, Moderator, at 12:50 P.M., 89 members attending.

The agenda was approved as presented.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE by Lance Neal

Mr. Neal moved that the church adopt the new organizational structure as proposed by the Personnel Committee. He used a PowerPoint presentation to present the current organization of the church staff and noted that no new positions have been added and the changes are consistent with the LifeWay recommendations. Our current organization is more appropriate for a smaller church. The objective of the proposed organization chart is to align staff with their specific gifts and clarify the role of the associate pastor.

Under the new organizational chart, The Minister of Education, Minister of Music and Minister of Youth/Family (The Ministerial Staff) will report to the Associate Pastor. In addition, the Director of Administrative Services will also report to the Associate Pastor.

Mr. Neal noted that the Personnel Committee has conducted reference calls to churches of the same size membership and monetary receipts.

The PowerPoint Presentation also listed the next steps planned by the Personnel Committee.

Question: / Point of Information: What is the process for selecting/appointing delegates and messengers to the Tates Creek Baptist Association annual meeting?
Answer: / (By Pastor Fort) The Tates Creek Baptist Association annual meeting is November 16. At that time the Association plans to present a recommendation to the Kentucky Baptist Convention. We ask for volunteers for delegates and messengers from the pulpit and in written form. We have a limit of ten. This is on a first come, first serve basis. You must be a member of First Baptist Church, Richmond, to be a delegate or messenger.
