Culcheth Community Meeting

1.  Welcome & Introductions

·  Diane welcomed all present to the meeting.

·  Introductions were given by all.

·  Minutes for future meetings will be circulated asap and a reminder sent out at least a week before each future meeting

2.  Minutes & Matters Arising

·  Minutes will be sent .

3.  Aim of the meeting

·  The aim of the meeting is to bring partners and members of the community from Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft together to discuss what projects are taking place in the areas, what issues there may be and how to best work together and avoid any duplication.

4.  Partner updates

Christine Housby (3rd Warrington East Scouts)

·  Scouts are pushing recruitment of new members and volunteers.

·  Help required to keep program running.

Jacqui Johnson (Culcheth & Glazebury Parish Council)

·  Victorian day on 30 November. Need people in costume.

·  Christmas light switch on at 4pm plus fireworks.

·  Parish Plan delivered to every household, though may have missed some properties. The plan can be downloaded from the website.

Sara Isles (Girl Guiding, Culcheth)

·  Membership continuing to increase in guides.

·  Some volunteers have now gone to University, though more volunteers recruited.

·  Planned sleep over at Parish Hall.

·  Trip to Tatton Park planned.

·  Duke of Edinburgh award scheme mentioned.

·  Brownies 100th birthday coming up.

Ann Court (WBC Children’s Centres)

·  New autumn program circulated to those present.

Vicki Dunning (LiveWire)

·  Successful summer activities.

·  Community Day raised profile.

·  LiveWire has an AGM at Orford coming up.

·  Jackie asked who owned the field by Withington Avenue as there is a litter issue in the area – this will be investigated, though suggested it may be owned by WBC.

Jo Unsworth (Culcheth Library)

·  Summer reading challenge was good.

·  Book sculpture mentioned.

·  Suggested items from museum could be loaned for Victorian Day.

·  Issues with printing now resolved.

·  It was asked if the HS2 display could be taken down.

Mandy Dodd (Culcheth Community Primary School)

·  It was suggested to use one of the giant Queens for Victorian Day (they area stored below the market).

·  Sports Relief event on the 23rd March 2014 is being finalised – got Warrington Wolves involved.

Steve Dodd (PCSO)

·  PCSOs supported summer events.

·  Need to build on funding for events.

·  Movie night was a success.

·  PCSOs will be attending Victorian Day.

Di White (WBC East Area coordinator)

·  Debrief for Summer events coming up on the 4th October.

·  Funding available – funding packs will be sent out to all.

5.  Foodbank Update

·  No update, though will forward if different.

6.  Youth Shelters Update

·  Photo of location near Sainsburys for shelter taken. May have issues with planning according to Coop covenant on the land

7.  Other issues / Events to discuss

·  Feedback for Victorian Day to be sent to Jacqui.

·  Leaflet delivery on Mee Brow – Neighbourhood Wardens will be available to help.

·  Coffee morning for MacMillan in school hall will be taking place on the 27th September.

·  Litter issues in area are minor.

·  Graffiti removal ongoing. Yellow paint being used, which is probably stolen.
