PUP WebMail through an Internet browser

Type at the address bar. A login box will appear.

Type your username and password. ClickOK button.

PUP WebMail Interface

Each user is given 20MB of mailbox storage.

Creating E-mail

On the list of folders at the left side of the window,selectInbox folder andclick New. Or you can simply select Message from the Newdropdown list at the toolbar.

A new window will appear.Type the e-mail address of your recipient (To) or to many

recipients (Cc or Bcc), subject (Subject) and the body of your e-mail at the space provided. ClickSend.

Another way to add e-mail address(es) as your recipientis to clickToor Cc or Bccbuttons. A new window will appear.

Select a category from the dropdown listFind names in. If you want to search from the list of all PUP WebMail users, choose Global Address List. Then type the key letters to search names. Select the name of the person you want to add to your recipient(s). Click To orCc or Bcc buttons where you want to add the selected person. You can also double click on the account to view more information or to add the account to your personal Contacts. Then click Close button.

And if you want to search from the list of your personal contacts, choose Contactsfrom the dropdown listFind names in. Then type the key letters to search names. Select the name of the person you want to add to your recipient(s). Click To or Cc or Bcc buttons where you want to add the selected person. You can also double click on the account to edit his/her information in your Contacts. Then click Close button.

Mailing Lists

PUP WebMail has provided mailing lists for related email accounts. This helps the sender to just enter the mailing list e.g. rather than entering all the email accounts under that particular group.

Creating E-mails with Attachment

Click Attachments button to attach file(s) to the e-mail.

A new window will appear.

Click Browse button to look for the files you want to attach with the e-mail.

Click Attach button to attach the file.

To attach multiple files, browse for the other files and do the same procedure.

Deleting E-mails

Select the e-mail you want to delete. Click on the Delete button. The items deleted will be placed in the Deleted Items folder.

To empty the Deleted Items folder, clickDeleted Items from the list of folders.

Then click Empty Deleted Items button from the toolbar.

Click OK.

Recovering Deleted E-mails

To recover the deleted e-mails, click on Recover Deleted Items button from the toolbar.

A new window will appear. Selectthe item(s) you want to recover. Click Recover button. To permanently delete the items, selectthe item(s) and click Permanently Delete button.

Moving/Copying E-mails to Another Folder

Click on the e-mail you want to retrieve and click on Move/Copy button.

A new window will appear. Select the folder wherein you want to moveor copythe selected e-mail. Click Move button if you want to move the selected e-mail to another folder or Copy button if you want to create a copy of the selected e-mail to another folder.

You can also create your customized folders where you want to move or copy the e-mail. To create a new folder, clickNew button. Type the name of your new folder and select the content of your new folder from the dropdown listFolder contains and select a folder from the list (e.g Calendar, Contacts, Inbox). Click OK.

Adding Contacts

On the list of folders at the left side of the window,selectContacts folder andclick New. Or you can simply select from the dropdown listNewContact.

Another window will appear.

Type the details of the Contact. ClickSave and Close button to save the contact and to go back to the Contacts page.

Mail Options

Click Options menu.

You can change the settings of your Messaging Options, Reading Pane Options, Spelling Options, E-mail Security, Privacy and Junk E-mail Preventions, Appearance, Date and Time Formats, Calendar Options, Reminder Options, Contact Options, and Password.

Changing of Password

Click Options menu. Click Change Password button.

A new window will appear.

Typepup.edu.ph as the domain. Type your account, your old password and your new password. Retypeyour new password for confirmation. ClickOK.

A new window will appear.
Click " Back to " close the window.

Viewing E-Mails

There are three ways to read your mail. Click the Show/Hide Reading Pane button. Choose from the dropdown list where you want to show the reading pane – Right, Bottom, or Off (hide reading pane).

If you choose Bottom, you can read your message at the bottom part of your screen.

But if you choose Off from the dropdown list, the reading pane will be hidden. To read your e-mail, double click the e-mail you want to read. A new window will appear.

Logging Off

Click Log Off button.

PUP WebMail through Microsoft Outlook

Setting up mail account

Launch Microsoft Outlook Expressprogram

Click Set up a Mail account

Type yournameto be displayed and then click Nextbutton.

Type the PUP WebMail e-mail address/e-mail account and then clickNext.

Choose IMAP from the list of incoming mail server.

Type mail.pup.edu.ph on the Incoming mail server.

Type mail.pup.edu.ph on the Outgoing mail server.

Click Next.

Type your password.

Click onthe Remember password check box if you don’t want your password to be stored on the computer.

Click Next.

Click Finish.

Click Yes.

Type your password (if you uncheck the remember password checkbox). Click

OK.

This window will appear which is downloading the list of folders from the PUP WebMail server.

Creating E-mail

Click Create Mail at the toolbar.

Type the e-mail address of your recipient (To) or to many recipients (Cc), subject (Subject) and the body of your e-mail at the space provided. ClickSend.

Receiving E-mails

ClickSend/Receive at the toolbar.
