A VISIT TO ROBERTS BAKERY, NORTHWICH

(Please note that this is an afternoon visit)

Overview:

The company was established in 1887 and is still very much a family business. The Frank Roberts and Sons group comprises four main business divisions and the Northwich site is home to two of these, Roberts Bakery and The Pastry Case. The latest additions to the family are Aldred’s The Bakers, located in Ilkeston, Derbyshire and P&A Davies who are based in Hawarden near Chester. The company is proud to play an important part in the local Northwich community and the cooling towers at the front of Roberts Bakery, along with the enticing smell of freshly baked bread, have become a renowned Cheshire landmark.

The visit will include a factory tour and a comprehensive illustrated talk on the history of the business.

Special requirements:

1.Please note that prompt arrivalfor13:30pm is important as attendees will need to be kitted out with protective clothing and have their visitor forms validated.

2.If you have your own safety shoes, please bring them along. If you do not have safety footwear, please bring suitable socks and Roberts will provide the shoes.

3.Read and complete the Product Safety Form, and the Visitor Health Questionnaire Form, both attached with this calling notice, prior to the visit. These will need to be handed in on arrival.

4.Protective clothing and hearing protection will be provided and must be worn in the production areas.

5.All jewellery and watches, except plain wedding bands, must be removed prior to entering the production areas.

6.Walking aids are not permitted in the production areas.

7.Numbers are limited (20 maximum), so please confirm your attendance to Steve Pye (07415327721; ) by Friday 29.03.13 latest.Please do not book a place unless you are certain of being able to attend.

8.We will need your name, your Company name and your position in your businessto provide to Roberts Bakery for business security.

9.There is no charge for the visit but attendees can make individual contributions to St Luke’s Hospice on the day.

The Bakery is at GadbrookParkand very visibly fronts the A556. Turn into Gadbrook Road at the traffic lights, go past the entrance to the Bakery, and take the next left into the entrance to the Pastry Case car park. There is ample parking and you will be met on arrival.
