Learning Objectives
List learning objectives here. Learning objectives accurately outline all learning goals of the lesson, leaving none out or including extra objectives that do not apply.
Related Standards
Standards that align to this MEA lesson can be listed here. Concepts covered in the resource explicitly address the concepts and skills in the aligned benchmark(s) and the number of the aligned benchmarks are manageable and focused – quality vs. quantity.
Assessment
Assessment provides a clear description of what the teacher should/will be measuring, provides a clear description of what the teacher will do with the data gathered from assessing the students (i.e. adjusting instruction, judging mastery of concepts), and provides a clear plan for providing students with appropriate feedback before, during, and after teaching. Assessment can be classified into the following three areas.
Formative Assessment
Describe how the teacher will gather information about the student understanding and prior knowledge before the lesson or at the beginning of the lesson. How and when can the teacher use this information during the lesson?
Feedback to Students (Educative Assessment)
Describe how and when the students will get feedback about their performance or understanding during the lesson. How and when will they have an opportunity to use this feedback to improve their performance?
Summative Assessment
Describe how the teacher will determine if the students have reached the learning targets for this resource. How will the teacher measure the impact of this resource on student learning?
Guiding/Reflective Questions
Guiding questions can be used for teams or the entire class and are meant as an educative type of assessment for students to think about their solutions or progress during or following the MEA activity. Guiding questions are stated clearly and elicit high level thinking by students.
