Oral Language: Sharing Literature, Big Book “Where Does the Brown Bear Go”.

Phonemic Awareness: Phoneme Isolation Focus on short vowel /u/

Phonics: Introduce short vowel/u/ words and high frequency words (she, use)

Read: Decodable Book “Muff’s Bath”

Language Arts: Writing: Students draw or list animals that can be pets.

Grammar: Teacher will introduce telling parts for two.

Tuesday---- Library (12:25-12:45)

Day 2 “Space Pup”

Oral Language: Sharing Literature, Poem: Build Concept Vocabulary

Phonemic Awareness: Phoneme Isolation Focus on short vowel /u/

Phonics: Short Vowel /u/ words, practice word building, and high frequency words (gives, he, night, out, people, says, when, your)

Read: Space Pup pp 58-83 Focus on cause and effect and reread.

Language Arts: Writing: Students will draw a picture of a dog helping people and write a sentence about it.

Grammar: Students will review telling parts for two.

Wednesday---- Day 3 “Space Pup”

Oral Language: Sharing Literature, Poem: Build Concept Vocabulary

Phonemic Awareness: Phoneme Segmentation: focus on short vowel /u/

Phonics: Review Short Vowel/u/ and high frequency words (gives, he, night, out, people, says, when, your)

Read: Space Pup pp 58-83 Reread for fluency. Making Connections page 80-81

Read Decodable Book “Buck Duck”.

Language Arts: Writing: Students will draw and label a picture of a dog.

Grammar: Students will review telling parts for two on teacher pp 81B.

Thursday---- Lexia Reading Lab (12:45-1:30)

Day 4 “Space Pup”

Oral Language: Sharing Literature, Song--BINGO: Listen and Respond

Phonemic Awareness: Syllable Segmentation: focus on short vowel /u/.

Phonics: word building and high frequency words (gives, he, night, out, people, says, when, your)

Read: Space Pup pp 58-83 Reread for fluency. Focus on phonics short vowel skill/u/ page 82-83.

Language Arts: Writing: Students will write about a topic of their choice.

Grammar: Students will review telling parts for two from teacher book pp 83D.

Friday--- Day 5 “Space Pup”

Oral Language: Sharing Literature, Big Book “Where Does the Brown Bear Go” Develop Listening Comprehension.

Phonemic Awareness: Phoneme Isolation: focus on blends with /r/

Phonics: Initial Blends with r and high frequency words (gives, he, night, out, people, says, when, your)

Read: Space Pup pp 58-83 Reread for fluency. Self-Selected Reading page 83L. Story Test.

Language Arts: Writing Students will write about different dogs and write about each one.

Grammar: Students will review telling parts for two from teacher book page 83N.
