As we continueour tradition at South Warren, Iwant to express my excitementabout this upcoming year. I believe the opportunity ahead of us will be an exciting experience. Materials Needed for Class

  • Pencil or pen
  • Paper
  • Folder with pockets
  • Textbook
  • Calculator (Financial Literacy and Accounting students only)

Expectations for Classroom Behavior

  • Be punctual.
  • Excessive tardinessis disciplined by the office.
  • Develop a good work ethic.
  • Try your best, use your time wisely, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Take an active role in your education.
  • If you have a question or concern, let the appropriate person know.

Guidelines for a Positive Learning Environment

  • Abide by all SWHS rules.
  • TheSWHS Technology Policy and SWHS & Warren County Internet Appropriate Use Policy states school computers are used for educational purposes only.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behavior.
  • Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated, especially when it interferes with learning. This type of behavior includes cheating, sleeping, inappropriate, and disruptive behavior.
  • Be respectful to others and all school equipment.
  • No food, drink, or gum is allowed.

Discipline Policy

Each time you do not follow the school rules, you will receive a Minor or Major Infraction Disciplinary Action Form which serves as documentation for your behavior. The purpose of this form is for you to correct your behavior and immediately return to task. In addition to this documentation, we will discuss your behavior.

Depending on the severity and nature of the issue, the consequences will be

(1) Warning, (2) Contacting parents and/or coaches, and (3) Being sent to the office with a discipline referral.

Cheating

Cheating will not be tolerated. Cheating is defined as giving or receiving information that should be completed on an individual basis. Your work must be genuine. The result of cheating will be a zero for the assignment. Any communication during a quiz/test is also considered cheating, even if it is not related to the material.

Absences

It is your responsibility to get all notes, assignments, and returned papers while absent from class. Youmustcomplete any missed assignments and testswithin five school days. After five school days, it isconsidered to be late and will NOT be accepted. A long-term absence should be discussed personally with me. If you will miss class due to a school-related activity, you should notify meBEFORE the absence.

Infinite Campus

Please verify that the contact information is correct in Infinite Campus. If a change needs to be made, please contact the guidance department. I will use the information in Infinite Campus tonotify you about your student’s progress. This website will also be helpful during the school year as you can monitor grades for each class.

Edmodo

Both students and their guardians shouldcreate accounts on Edmodo so they are able to stay connected with the class assignments and important dates. My classes will be locked shortly after the beginning of the semester and will not allow new members to be added. Please ask your student for the group code to join.
