State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation (SKLOGRGE) was applied for jointly by Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT) and Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) in 1988 and was certified in 1995. The state key laboratory is the earliest state-level laboratory of petroleum upstream industry of China, and has passed the national evaluation hired by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China in 2000, 2005 and 2010, respectively.
The State Key Lab are being focused on the advanced theory and technology of oil and gas exploration and development. Research interest includes integrated formaion evaluation, Petroliferous basin dynamics and production potential analysis, Geophysical exploration theories and methods of complex reservoir, Development theories and methods of complex reservoir, Drilling and Completion Methods of complex reservoir and IOR/EOR
In the laboratory, a top-class scientific research platform was built, which is capable of supporting the most advanced research of oil and gas exploration and development. The platform covers an area of twelve thousand square meters. At present, the State Key Lab is focusing on the development of unconventional petroleum resource, especially shale gas, tight gas and sour gas reservoir.
A a large number of outstanding scientists and experts have been cultured for China’s petroleum industry, such as 1 innovative team entitled by Ministry of Education, 1 Academician, 2 Changjiang Scholars, 2 scholars funded by the National Outstanding Youth Foundation and 7 winners funded by he Ministry of education for New Century Excellent Talent . A series of important achievements was attained. 1 item of the first National Science and technology progress award, 6 items of the second National Science and technology progress awards, 33 items of the first provincial and ministerial level awards and 47 items of the second provincial and ministerial level awards.

油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室依托西南石油大学和成都理工大学建设，是我国油气工业上游领域最早的国家重点实验室和我国油气勘探开发学科方向设置最为完整的研究实体，实验室先后于2000年、2005年和2010年三次以良好成绩通过国家科技部评估。
实验室紧密围绕油气勘探开发学科前沿和国家重大工程技术任务开展科学研究，形成了油气储层综合研究、含油气盆地动力学及油气资源潜力分析、复杂油气藏地球物理勘探理论与方法、复杂油气藏开发理论与方法、复杂油气藏钻完井基础理论与关键技术、复杂油气藏增产改造与提高采收率等6个主要研究方向，建成了能够支撑油气勘探开发学科主要方向科学研究的国际一流的研究平台。现有使用面积约1.2万m2。目前实验室正在针对页岩气等非常规油气资源的勘探开发进行一系列深入的研究。
实验室为我国油气工业培养了一大批优秀人才。拥有教育部创新团队1个，院士1名，长江学者特聘教授2名，国家杰出青年基金获得者2名，国家“百千万人才工程”人选7名，教育部跨（新）世纪优秀人才培养基金获得者7名。经过多年发展，实验室取得了一大批处于国际先进和国内领先的研究成果，获国家科技进步一等奖1项、国家科技进步二等奖6项、省部级一等奖33项、二等奖47项。

In this golden autumn, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) embraces so many notable academicians, experts and scholars from the petroleum community of the world, who gather here to attend the 6th International Symposium of Oil/Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation. On behalf of the Organization Committee and State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) and Chengdu University of Technology(CDUT), I’d like to express my warmest welcome and hearted thanks to all of the distinguished guests and participants presenting the opening ceremony today.
The symposium is cosponsored by State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Exploitation, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) and Chengdu University of Technology(CDUT), Chinese Petroleum Society, Geological Society of China, and Sichuan Petroleum Society. Here, I am especially grateful to CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC, Science and Technology Department of Sichuan Province and Education Department of Sichuan Provincefor their valuable support in the course of the preparation for this symposium.
The theme of this symposium is “New Theory and New Technology of Unconventional Oil and Gas Reservoir Exploration and Development”. The event offers E&P professionals the latest techniques and best practices for discovering, developing, and producing unconventional oil and gas reservoir, especially shale gas, tight gas and sour gas reservoir.
With almost one-year efforts, we have done all the preparation for the conference. So far, about 200 experts have registered to join the event. They are from Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University United States of America, Chengdu Branch of SPE, CNPC, SINOPEC, CNOOC, Range Resources United States of America, British Petroleum Association ,Norwegian Oil and Gas Association, Shell, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Chevron, Baker Hughes, TOTAL, Archer, Australasia Wireline Logging Department, Beijing Landy Hong Ye Oil Drilling Technology Service Ltd. And East West Energy Services Ltd., respectively. More than 150 technical presentations and papers have been accepted, including 1 presentation for Special keynote speech, 22 presentations for keynote speech and 51 papers to be reported in the four sessions.
Innovation is the driving force for the social progress of mankind and the impetus for the development of petroleum industry. I believe the conference will enhance communication and corporation of technologies in unconventional oil and gas reservoir exploration and development, especially shale gas, tight gas and sour gas reservoir..

秋高气爽，油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室第六次国际学术研讨会在西南石油大学和成都理工大学隆重举行，我们迎来了海内外石油界的知名院士、专家和学者，在这里，我代表油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室和大会组委会，向前来参加研讨会的各位来宾表示热烈的欢迎、衷心的感谢和诚挚的问候！
本次研讨会由油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室、西南石油大学、成都理工大学、中国石油学会、中国地质学会及四川石油学会联合举办。在会议的准备过程中，我们得到了中石油、中石化、中海油和四川省教育厅、省科技厅的大力支持。在此，我再次代表实验室及大会组委会表示衷心的感谢！
本研讨会主题为“非常规油气藏勘探开发新理论与新技术”，将重点围绕页岩气、高酸性气藏、低渗透油气藏勘探和开发的技术问题及研究进展进行讨论和展开交流。经过近一年的努力，会议的各项准备工作已经就绪。有来自中国科学院、中国工程院、美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学、SPE 成都分会、中石油、中石化、中海油、美国资源局、英国石油天然气协会、挪威国家石油天然气协会、壳牌、斯伦贝谢、贝克休斯、雪佛龙、威德福、道达尔、挪威Archer公司、澳大利亞电缆测井部、北京兰德宏业石油钻采技术服务有限公司、西东能源服务有限公司以及油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室，共计约200位专家参与到会议的各项活动之中。会议录用了150篇学术论文和大会报告。其中包括1篇大会主题报告、22篇大会报告和51余篇分会场发言。
我们相信这次会议必将促进和加强非常规油气藏勘探和开发方面的交流与合作，尤其是在页岩气、致密气和酸性气藏方面，从而促进该领域油气资源勘探开发理论与技术的发展。
