Hi, my name is John Comito and I’m really excited to have been appointed the Executive General Manager for Asset Servicing.
NAB has a proud history of being a leading custodian in the Australian market place for over 50 years.
I’ve always admired the professionalism, the industry knowledge, the dedication and the passion for our staff to deliver a really high standard of service, and I know I’m joining a great team.
I’ve been working for over 30 years. I trained as a Chartered Accountant and I joined NAB in the tax team in 1994.
Since then I’ve had the opportunity to perform a range of different roles including global head of tax, chief financial officer of the Wholesale Banking Division, global head of the Financial Institutions Group where I worked really closely with the Asset Servicing Division in execution of joint account plans and more recently as chief risk officer of Product and Markets.
I learned from very early on in my career that success only comes from building respect and long term relationships with clients.
The fund sector plays a critical role in the Australian economy, particularly in supporting individuals build their wealth and plan for retirement.
Asset Servicing is of course only of the ways in which we support clients in the fund sector. At NAB we also have deep relationships through the provision of other products including foreign exchange and interest rate risk management, fixed income and deposit products and the provision of debt to support investment in asset classes such as infrastructure.
NAB is in a unique position as the only Australian major bank with an asset servicing division and I’m really looking forward to working with staff in Asset Servicing and leveraging my networks across NAB to deliver the full range of financial services for our clients.
