Principal’s Summary:

Studies have shown that consistency in leadership and staff promotes a safe school environment for the students. I believe this is true, especially when the kids know what to expect. I recently told a colleague of mine to leave the returning teachers alone because they know what to do and focus on the new teachers to the district and offer support.

When we opened the doors on Monday July 23rd it was like welcoming back family. The kids know the staff and we know them well. It was a lot of smiles and hellos and it seemed like we just picked up where we left off in May. This even has a positive effect on the new students to our school and allows them to feel comfortable in a new environment. Stability is crucial to a school and you could feel it on Meet the Teacher night as well as the first day. On a personal note it is a great feeling to experience being a part of the community.

The staff has embraced the TAP System. We are all motivated to move our kids up and maintain high academic standards. The meetings are going well as we find our way through the process. Being educators we are always learning and improving our skills. This will be a great year.
