The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1.Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999[1]—
(a)to increase fees for the registration of vehicles; and
(b)to alter the manner in which the fees for books of roadworthy certificates are prescribed.
2.Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3.Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2004.
4.Increase in "base fee" for vehicle registration

In clause (3)(b) of Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999, for "$157" substitute "$160.50".
5.Restatement of fee for issue of books of roadworthy certificates
In item 16 of Schedule 6 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999—
(a)in Column 2, for "per certificate" substitute "per book of 100 certificates"; and
(b)in Column 4, for "1.22" substitute "122".
