WHAT: White House Officials, National and Area Healthcare Execs to highlight National Health Disparities Conference
Philadelphia, PA, November 8, 2010 – Representatives of media outlets are invited to join approximately 200 government and private-sector healthcare officials, community activists, and elected officials, including Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, Hon. U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah and Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes, at the opening reception for the Fourth Annual National Conference on Health Disparities, on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street, here. Also scheduled to attend the reception are conference organizer Dr. David Rivers and Amerihealth Mercy Family of Companies CEO Michael A. Rashid.
Focusing on the disparities in the quality of health care across demographic groups, the Conference will address a series of key questions about non-medical determinants of health. Such determinants include education level, health literacy, poverty, public safety, community design, access to care, environmental quality and personal, government and corporate responsibility.
