Coffee Cart / At Warrenton High School YTP sponsors a student run business called HOT SHOTS! Coffee Cart. We are open T/TH from 7:30 to 9:30AM, and run October through April. We offer a variety of hot, cold and blended drinks, including smoothies. Ask about our monthly specials! Teams of 2-3 students work 3 shifts; learning to make and deliver drinks, work as a team, and fill out time sheets. Students must apply and be interviewed. Annual evaluations are done by the Coffee Cart Manager/YTP Specialist. Although this is a volunteer position, students receive a free drink of their choice after their shift. In addition, students earn elective credit for time worked which is calculated using the time sheets.

The Lions Print
Espresso Experience coffee cart / The Shampooch is oure dog washing business where we serve both staff and community members dogs. Students learn to schedule appts., brush, bath, and blow dry dogs, as well as handle money, customer service and laundry. Money from this business funds our cooking unit and community activities such as bus training.
The Lions Print is our screen printing business. Students learn how to create screens using emlusion paper, prep for printing, print t-shirts, and package for shipment throughout our district. Prices very dependent on print.
Expresso Experience is our student run coffee shop. We are open from 7:30-8:05 and again from 11:50-12:20. We also “employ” a separate clean up crew during 1st and 5th period. Students who participate in this work placement learn how to access inventory, shop, stock, make hot and cold drinks, run a cash register, interact with customers, market products, accounting (when appropriate), dishes, laundry, and basic machine maintance. Payment for work is a free drink each week.

/ YTP Bakery and catering / Some of our YTP students start in the bakery where they learn transferrable skills in a professional kitchen. Students study and obtain their food handler’s card, while learning to follow directions, follow sanitation proceedures, work as a team, or independantly and produce products sold to the school store at our local community college. Our students also plant, tend and harvest over 20 raised bed gardens. In addition, there are raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, adding to the fresh produce in some of our culinary creations.

Bulldog Blender / We have three work experience programs for our local students; Bubbles uses a commercial washer and dryer to do all the district laundry, as well as that of 6 local businesses, and private customers. This provides a wide variety of skills, including laundry, billing, customer service, and organization.
Students and families can exchange, pick up, or donate clothing free of charge. We also offer free hygiene, household, linens, small furniture, and a wide variety of items, and work with other agencies to provide for those in need (although we are open to anyone).

3D printing / Using a Lulzbot Mini 3D printer students are printing and preparing objects to sell in the community and school. Items printed are cell phone wall mounts, cell phone table stands, cell phone pocket block, and ear bud cord wraps, headphone wraps, key chains, cookie cutters, and much much more. Primarily YTP Students.

/ Lion Coffee Express / We have been in business for 20 years. We make espresso, lattes, smoothies, blended chocolate milks along with cookies. Students use Point of sale cash register to take orders and we use our students in our Autism class room to go around to all the teachers and take and deliver orders to them. Students learn cash handling, customer service, inventory, bank deposits, how to handle customer disputes, ordering of supplies, marketing and how to run a small business. Students have to apply and interview for this position and they receive an elective credit for this class.

Logger Shack / All students that work in these programs are either on an IEP or 504.
The student store is open before school and during break every day. One student works for community service hours and one for an elective credit. The Balloon Co. is housed in the student store.
The Logger Shack sells concessions at all of our indoor sporting events. All students that work must have a current food handlers card and cash register training. The students earn a stipend that can be spent on anything school related.

The students produce, can and design the label for Spread once a year at a Commercial Kitchen. They produce 1000 jars of Spread and sell it throughout the year. (Blackberry,Straweberry,and Blueberry)

/ "TXT ME L8R CAFE" / The TXT ME L8R CAFÉ is a food and drink business run by students during the mornings and lunch at Mohawk Jr/Sr High School! Most of the students working in the café will work everyday of our four day school week, with some students even working both morning and lunch shifts! For compensation, students are offered a drink or food item of their choosing after a shift. Additionally, we feature an employee of the month award, where the recipient receives a certificate, as well as a cash bonus to commend their hard work! Through the café, the students are introduced to a fast-paced work environment and learn an array of workplace skills, from making drinks and advertising, to taking inventory and working the register. The students rotate through the different positions in the café, so that they all have an opportunity to step outside of their comfort zones and learn new skills! Every Wednesday at lunch, we feature our “Gourmet Day”, where students brainstorm, advertise, cook, and serve a delicious meal of their choosing. The café on Wednesdays is definitely standing room only!
