Grade 2 Protocol for Administration

Prior to Survey Administration / ·  Read all of the directions and proctoring instructions.
·  Classroom teachers should inform students ahead of time that they will be participating in a survey to provide you with feedback on their experiences being a student in your class.
·  Plan to have student have work to complete at their desk if they finish early.
·  Set aside 30 minutes of class time for the survey.
·  Identify students who need accommodations.
·  Read all of the prompts to the students in kindergarten.
During the Survey / ·  Keep a comfortable distance from students to insure their privacy.
·  Answer any students’ questions. Any clarifying questions may be answered. Unknown words may also be defined for students.
After the Survey is Complete / ·  Collect all surveys.
Students with Special Needs / ·  Every effort should be made to include all students with special needs in survey completion.
·  When appropriate, students with special needs should be provided with necessary accommodations consistent with their IEP.
·  Possible accommodations include the following
1.  Changes in time or scheduling
2.  Change in survey setting
3.  Change in the survey presentation
4.  Change in how the student responds to survey item
ELL Students / ·  Every effort should be made to include all ELL students in the survey.
Read the following to students prior to administering survey / Students, you will be answering some questions to give me ideas on my teaching. I will use your answers to better understand what it is like to be a student in this class. Your answers should be about your time in my classroom.
