Dear Resident

CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: SERVICES LOCATION AND POTHOLING – BULLA ROAD OFF-RAMP

We are writing to advise residents that during the overnight full-freeway closure from Bulla Road to Bell Street scheduled for 27 August, there will be works carried out on the Bulla Road off-ramp (outbound) – weather permitting.

Workers will take advantage of the closure to complete some works that would otherwise require additional disruption to traffic.

While the works to be carried out should not have a direct impact on you, we appreciate that there might be noticeable noise that might cause some inconvenience for residents and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

What we are doing

Workers will be locating and verifying underground services on the verge of the off-ramp near the wooden fence using a non-destructive digging (vacuum) truck.

Where we will be

The majority of works will be towards the Bulla Road-end of the off-ramp – see area marked in blue on the map. The works and equipment will be located on the ramp and there will be no impact on local residents.

What we are doing

Workers will be identifying areas where underground services are known to be located and the non-destructive digging truck will make potholes to verify exact locations and the actual services at that location.

What to expect

While the investigation works themselves will not have an impact on residents, you may notice some noise made by the non-destructive digging that in use andlights that will be used to illuminate the work area.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work will cause.

About the project
The CityLink Tulla Widening project involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport. The project will also provide travel time savings per trip between Melbourne Airport and the West Gate Freeway during peak periods.

The project will deliver a safer, more reliable freeway. Generally, an additional lane is being added in each direction, as well as upgrades at key interchanges including Bell Street, Mount Alexander Road/Flemington Road and on the Bolte Bridge to West Gate Freeway entry ramp.

We are committed to keeping residents informed and minimising the impacts during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times. Managing and protecting the environment is also important to us and we are working with local and state government adhering to environmental laws to ensure any impact to the natural ecosystem is minimised.
