Dear Daniels Farm School Families,

We would like to extend an invitation to all parents to attend Daniels Farm School’s Back-to-School evenings. The purpose of these programs is to begin the vital communication process between families and teachers. You will have an opportunity to become familiar with the grade level curriculum, learning goals, classroom procedures, and how we convey information home throughout the year to keep families updated and involved. Communication and cooperation are critical to each child’s success.

Our continued focus is on ensuring all students achieve and develop to their full academic, social, and emotional potential. We are extremely fortunate to have a wide array of personnel in our elementary schools and we strive to utilize all staff in an equitable manner to achieve these goals. Parents play a key role in their child’s development and a strong school-home partnership is the hallmark of a quality school.

The following will be our dates and schedules for Back-to-School nights:

Tuesday, September 8: Grades kindergarten, one and two

*Wednesday September 16: Grades three, four, and five

(please note-this is date change)

The timetable for each night will be:

7:00-7:20PM: General meeting in the cafeteria - All grades

Words from the principal, PTA, Father’s Cluband other groups

7:20-8:00PM:Teacher presentations in the classroom

In addition to classroom teachers, our specialist staff will attend one of the two evenings, but are always available for conferences at your individual request.

After the classroom presentations, everyone is invited back to the cafeteria for refreshments.

We are asking families to carpool to both protect our environment and enable all vehicles to fit on campus. We have several student “green” initiatives this year and parents serve as strong role models in this area. Rather than see ten mini-vans and SUV’s lined up in a row, let’s set the example for our students by halving that number. Families who carpool will take part in a PTA raffle for some wonderful prizes, so GO GREEN and carpool!

The staff and I feel very strongly about the necessity of strong home/school communication. Our Back-to-School program is the first step to this communication. Please make every effort to attend.

We are looking forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

GaryKunschaft
