Super-Size Me Program Agenda

I.Icebreaker:

Have the teens stand in a circle. Each teen will go around the circle and say their name. When they say their name, they must also do some kind of action, such as jumping or kicking. The entire circle must then do this with them until the next teen in the circle says their name.

II.Super Quiz Me

-Please use the “Super Size Me: An educational tool of Epic Portionss” DVD ( On this Super Size Me curriculum DVD, there is a section that has games. This is where the trivia is. It is called Super QuizMe. Use the DVD remote to locate the trivia. Split the group into two teams that will compete against each other. There are three sets of trivia, small, medium, and large, and each set has two games to choose from. Depending how long you want to play the trivia game will depend on how many questions you do. The sets all have 10 questions each. Some of the questions are multiple choice, and there is time to select an answer with the remote. A few of the questions are fill-in-the-blank, and the team has 10 seconds to call out the answer. A timer will appear on the screen.

III.Obstacle Exercise Course

The two groups will again compete against each other in this course. There will be different stations around Club Central that the teens will have to visit in order and complete the task at each station before moving on. From the start line they will move to the following stations and do the following activities:

Station 1: pick up the hula hoop and hula hoop 5 times

Station 2: Jump rope 10 times

**the teens must then crab walk to station 3**

Station 3:a miniature bean-bag basketball toss will be set up, and the teens have to make 3 baskets from their knees before moving on

Station 4: at this station teens must do 5 push-ups and 5 sit-ups

**teens must then slither crawl (like the army) to station 5**

Station 5: the teens must then crawl around the cones on their knees

Station 6: Yoga Break! the teens must sit in a yoga position for 5 seconds

Station 7: the teens must then jump up and spin ten times, and then do 10 jumping jacks

Only one teen per team can be at each station. As soon as a teen is done with a station, the next teen can run up. However, there can be no overlapping, and no two teens on the same team doing the same thing. They must wait until their teammate in front of them is finished.

IV.Would You Rather/Gross Food Facts

In this activity, teens will play a game called Would You Rather, where they have to choose between two rather disgusting choices. Also gross facts about food will be shared.

*A gross fact to start: For those of you who like coffee, you can try this special type of coffee called Weasel Coffee. This coffee is made from coffee beans that are regurgitated by weasels. The beans are then collected to make this fine flavored coffee.

Depending on the size of the group, the following would you rather questions can be asked of individual teens, or of the group as a whole. Allow time for teens to discuss briefly between each question.

1.) Would you rather have to eat the contents of a full vacuum-cleaner bag OR a pound of toe jam?

2.) Would you rather eat a golfball-size clump of wasabi (green Japanese horseradish eaten with sushi) OR a heaping tablespoon of crushed red peppers (the Italian kind eaten on pizza)?

3.) Would you rather eat a head of rotten cabbage OR drink a glass of sour milk?

4.) Would you rather eat a handful of chicken feathers OR five tablespoons of frog eggs?

**Fun Fact: In Thailand people eat Weaver Ant eggs, which are soft and jelly like in nature.

5.) Would you rather, in one sitting, eat ten pounds of cheese OR a bucket of peanut butter (with nothing to drink)?

**Fun Fact: Did you know that it is in fact impossible to keep all farm produce free of rats? So the U.S. Government has allowed a maximum amount of rat hair and rat droppings in certain processed foods such as… peanut butter!

6.) Would you rather eat a sandwhich bag full of lawn clippings OR eat one live earthworm?

7.) Would you rather eat one can of soft dog food OR five cups of dry dog food?

8.) Would you rather eat a hamburger or chicken nuggets?

**Fun fact: Maybe you’ll change your mind and say neither. Did you know that today’s poultry slaughterhouses are so disgusting, one former U.S. Department of Agriculture scientist says that the “final product is no different than if you stuck it in the toilet and ate it?”
