MN POAC SHOW RULES

Only registered POAs may show at POA Breed Shows

Stalling:

1)A check for the full amount of stalls requested must accompany the stall reservation form postmarked 1 week prior to show. Stall fees will be charged if a stall has been reserved and not cancelled by 6:00 PM on the Monday before the show. Exceptions may apply, but need to be submitted to the MNPOAC President and be approved by the BOD. Stall reservation forms will be on the MN POAC website for each show. Stalls will be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis

2)Showing out of the trailer is allowed at West Salem, WI and Windom, MN. A per pony fee will be accessed. Showing out of the trailer is NOT allowed at Cannon Falls, MN and Winona, MN.

3)Shavings will be available to purchase at each show. Shavings at West Salem, Winona, Cannon Falls, and Windom must be pre-ordered prior to the show. They will be available until 10:00 PM on the Friday to the show unless previous arrangements have been made with the show chair.

Show Number Registration:

1)You must register each year to obtain your show numbers for each pony/rider combination. The fee for your exhibitor numbers is $5.00 per pony/rider combination if sent in ahead of the show and $10.00 per pony/rider combination if obtained at the show.

2)A copy of the registration papers, a copy of the Coggin’s Test, and the appropriate fee per number must be attached to the completed show number registration form before a number will be issued. This form can be obtained on the MN POAC website.

3)MN POAC members may re-use their numbers from year to year, but will still be charged the $5.00 fee. If this is the case, please make note of this on the registration form.

4)Numbers issued in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa may be used at MN POAC shows.

Measuring:

1)All ponies that are ages 5 and under and those ages 6 and over who do not have a Permanent Height Card (PHC) must be measured. Ponies without PHC can be measured at the following approximate designated measuring times:

Fridays7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Saturdays & Sundays6:30 AM to 7:00 AM

2)Ponies ages 6 and over who obtain a Permanent Height Card (PHC) must provide a copy with the show number registration form.

MN POAC Futurity:

1)Entry forms for the MN POAC Futurities are posted on the MN POAC website

2)As of January 31, 2015, weanlings will be charged a $10 Futurity Fee (per pony/ per handler combination) and ponies that are 2 and over will be charged a $20 Futurity Fee (per pony/per handler or rider combination).

  1. Class Fee: $6 per class
  2. National Fee: $10 performance/$6 Halter
  3. MN POAC FEE: $3 per pony

2)B&P/IBC

  1. Class Fee: $3 per class
  2. National Fee: $7 per pony
  3. MN POAC FEE: $3 per pony

3)Promo

  1. Class Fee: $4 per class
  2. National Fee: $4 Performance/$2 Halter
  3. MN POAC FEE: $3 per pony

General Show Rules:

1)All MN POAC shows will start at 7:30 AM sharp. The arena will be open on Friday evening and prior to the start of the show for warm up.

2)National rules will apply at all MN POAC shows unless superseded by the above rules. Any point that comes up not specifically covered in these rules will be ruled by the Board of Directors (BOD). The BOD decision is final.

3)The MN POAC Show Committee reserves the right to combine or split classes as size warrants. The Show Committee also has the right to run classes simultaneously at the direction of the Show Committee in like classes.

4)The MN POAC Show Committee reserves the right to cancel classes that are scheduled to be held in the outdoor ring if there is bad weather.

5)Any person acting or inciting or permitting any other to act in a matter contrary to the Rules of the POAC, or in a manner deemed sportsmanship like, improper, unethical, dishonest, or intemperate, or prejudicial to the best interests of the POAC, shall be reported to the POAC and subject to disciplinary procedures.

6)All patterns will be posted once received from the judges.

7)Novice Classes are for a Pony/Rider combination that may not have won three firsts in that classification.

8) No rider may enter the same class in 6 & under and 9 & under. If exhibiting in 9 & under w/t pleasure, cannot exhibit in 9 & under three gait classes.

9)Approved safety helmets are required in hunt rail classes, all gymkhana and jumping events.

10) A collared shirt with sleeves is required for timed events.

11) Shows with high point awards will post the criteria used for the high point award calculations on the MN POAC website and at the show.

12)All tack changes will be declared to the gate person prior to the class or the gate will be closed.

13) The grounds and MN POAC are not responsible for any injuries or theft.

14) The camping fees are a per unit fee.

Year End Awards:

1)An exhibitor and owner must be a member of the MN POAC to be eligible for year-end awards sponsored by the MN POAC.

2)A resident of another state may be eligible for year-end awards sponsored by the MN POAC, provided they are MN POAC members.

3)Dues will be received by a local Show Chairs-Person if the exhibitor is not already a member of the MN POAC.

4)MN POAC dues must be renewed by March 31, 2016.

5)New memberships will be accepted at any time throughout the year.

6)Points will be accumulated at shows following payment of membership dues.

  • A pony or member must show under 50% or more judges at MN POAC pointed shows during the 2016 show season (including MN POAC sponsored and MN POAC pointed shows) to be eligible for year-end awards, high point awards, participation awards, or graduating senior awards.

Show Results:

  • Show results will be posted on the MN POAC website within 30 days after completion of each show. Year-to-Date point tallies will be posted on the MN POAC website throughout the year.
