Coaches/Contacts:
Stacey Benjamin
I have been coaching the boy’s district diving team for six years. My goal is to provide everyone with a fun experience. I’m currently attending school in Minnetonka for my paralegal certificate. I can be reached at 651-216-7606. If you have questions please call me at anytime. Also, please do not ask questions during practice, wait until after and I will be glad to help. Another way to reach me is through email (make sure you use zeros).
Melissa Kaiser
I want to welcome Melissa to district 279, this is her first year coaching the boys team. Melissa just ended her first season as the Girl’s Head Diving Coach and had a very successful year. She is currently a nanny and is also a substitute teacher. Melissa can be reached at 715-379-3445, or
(again those are zeros)
Rules:
While it is important that everyone has fun throughout the season, it is even more important that safety comes first! The following are rules that are to be followed, if you can’t follow them you will be asked to leave practice or if necessary you will be asked to leave the team. Remember it is a privilege to be on this team, Melissa and I need to look out for the best interest of the entire team.
These rules are an addition to the swim team rules and the Minnesota State High School League Rules:
If taking the bus, please follow bus drivers directions
Once at school you need to stay at school (NVJH)
While at school please sit quietly, either in hall or bleachers, and do not disturb North View Jr. in any way
Arrive to practice on time. We get in the water at 4:45, not into the locker room
Respect those around you: athletes, coaches, parents, etc.
Use time wisely
Three balks = you are out of practice
Finish workouts
Stretch
No talking on diving board
Someone should always be on the diving board
You are only allowed to miss three practices throughout the year and they need to be called in by your Guardian
Keep a positive attitude
Take bus to meets with swimmers and ride bus home
Support the swimmers at the meets, don’t put street clothes on
Communicate with coaches
Lettering Policy:
Score 150 points on a six dive list twice and have all five voluntaries
Or
Place in top 16 at sections
Also taken into consideration:
Attitude
Attendance
Coaches discretion
Schedule:
Practice times:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:45-6:45
Tuesday, Thursday 4:45- 6:30
Saturday practices will be added if coaches feel they need to be, based on athletes’ work ethic and attendance.
