1.RULES

The championship will be governed by:

1.1the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 – 2008 (RRS);

1.2Yachting Australia Inc (YA) Special Regulations (SR) – Part 2;

1.3the rules and by-laws of the International Contender Class Association;

1.4this Notice of Race (NOR) and the Sailing Instructions (SIs).

2.ADVERTISING

The regatta will be classified as Category C in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20. (Refer RRS 79)

3.ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY

3.1The championship is open to all Contender Class dinghies.

3.2 All helmspersons shall be financial members of a division of the International Contender Association and a yacht or sailing club affiliated with their state or national Yachting Authority. Refer RRS 46.

3.3 Entries on the attached form, together with the prescribed fee, shall be lodged with International Contender Association of Qld, 9 Hellyer Street, Wynnum West Qld 4178.

3.4 The closing date for entries will be Friday 14 December 2007.

2.4Late entries may be accepted after this time, but all such entries shall incur a surcharge.

4.FEES

3.1The Entry Fee will be $250

6.MEASUREMENT

6.1No measurement of new yachts or equipment will be conducted at these championships.

6.2 Only sails and equipment that have been measured, and certification marked,as per the ISAF Rules for Measurement prior to attendance at this event, shall be presented for stamping.

6.3 All boats must conform to the Measurement Certificate. Random measurement checks may be conducted throughout the series.

6.4Random checks of boats and safety equipment may be carried out at any time during the regatta and the top six boats may be checked after each race. Failure to comply with the rules may result in protest and disqualification from all races sailed prior to such inspection

7.SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing instructions will be available upon registration at RQYS.

8.VENUE

8.1 The Host Club will be Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Ltd. 578 Royal Esplanade, Manly, situated at the southern end of the Manly Boat Harbour.

8.2The races will be conducted on Waterloo Bay, east south-east of the Manly Harbour entrance beacons. A map of the racing area will be displayed on the official notice board.

9.COURSES

Triangle courses will be set (reaching legs at 60o), which shall be sailed in accordance with the SIs.

10.SCORING SYSTEM

The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A will apply.

11. PRIZES

12.ENTRY DISCLAIMER

All those taking part in this regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility. Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Ltd., and all others involved in the conduct and management of this event, shall not be liable for any loss of life or injury, or for the loss of property or damage thereto, whatsoever or howsoever occurring. The race documents and instructions in no way limit or reduce the complete and unlimited responsibilities of a competitor for the management and care of a boat that they have entered in the event. Attention is drawn to RRS 4.

13.INSURANCE

All boats shall have current Third Party Liability Insurance with a minimum racing cover considered by the insurers as being adequate to cover all risks involved ($10 million recommended) for any incident. All owners/competitors who sign the Entry Form are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover.

15.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Entry to RQYS: RQYS has a secured gate entry to the rigging lawns. Competitors should contact the RQYS office for information about Security Tags and other options for access during the regatta.

Accommodation: Ample and varied accommodation is available in the area. Early bookings are recommended. Refer accommodation guide on the RQYS web site See Facilities menu in Membership Services.

On Site Accommodation: The Yachting Queensland building within RQYS grounds (50m to RQYS Clubhouse) has 20 bed accommodation made up of 3 rooms with 4 beds and 1 room with 8 beds and a common kitchen. Cost is $30 per person per night provided there is more than a total of 10 guests. Less than 10 guests is $50 per person per night. Bookings to be made with YQ E-mail Address:

Camping: Some camping facilities will be available in the grounds of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. Further information is available from RQYS.

Boat Storage: Competitors arriving prior to the commencement of the regatta should contact RQYS to make appropriate arrangements for access and storage.
