A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor of the Morehead State University Co-Ed and All-Girl Cheerleading Squads.
WHEREAS, the Morehead State University Co-Ed and All-Girl Cheerleading Squads continued their legacy of dominance recently at the University Cheerleaders Association National Championships in Orlando, Florida. The Co-Ed Squad won its 20th national title in the Large Co-Ed Division 1 category, and the All-Girl Squad won its eighth national title in the All-Girl Division 1 category. In addition, four members of the All-Girl Squad won the team's second national title in the All-Girl Group Stunt competition; and
WHEREAS, these exemplary cheerleading squads are coached by Coach Bill Mayo. In a short time, Coach Mayo has continued the level of excellence with which Morehead State University cheerleading has long been associated. A graduate and former cheerleader at the University of Louisville, the expertise and energy he has brought to Morehead State University cheerleading will cement this already proud program's legacy; and
WHEREAS, this Honorable Body congratulates Coach Mayo and the members of the Co-Ed Cheerleading Squad: Tony Crump, Kurt Gardner, Stu Gardner, Brandon Garvey, Jesse Hulet, Austin West, Dylan Tobin, Austin Ayotte, Shannon Marconi, Stephanie Crites, Meagan Balentine, Sarah Jayne Ramsey, Chelsea Bogda, Lauren Chrzanowski, Brittany Rogers, Miranda Noel, and Stephanie Faulconer. We also congratulate Coach Mayo and the members of the All-Girl Cheerleading Squad: Rebecca Bedock, Melissa Bull, Mallory Mingus, McKenzie Clem, Joneshia Hall, Ashley Morris, Marissa Nickels, Maddie Jenne, Krista Sanders, Ashley Benjamin, Mary Kate Shalhoub, Brooklynn Castle, Jill Parrott, Kamry Jackson, Brianna Gordon, Alison Tinsley, Katie Mihaiu, Kayla Holcomb, Olivia Miller, Isabel Glinski, Kelsey St. John, Hayley Phillips, and Allison Smith. The four members of the All-Girl Group Stunt Competition were: Mallory Mingus, Krista Sanders, Ashley Benjamin, and Isabel Glinski;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The Senate commends the work of the Morehead State University Co-Ed and All-Girl Cheerleading Squads for their award-winning performances at the Universal Cheerleaders Association National Championships. The Senate also congratulates Coach Bill Mayo, Morehead State University President Wayne D. Andrews, and the support staff who helped make these historic victories possible.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the Morehead State University Co-Ed and All-Girl Cheerleading Squads.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Walter Blevins, Jr., for delivery to the team.
