There are two exchange programs to Japan.
The Nihongo Program, approx. June 11-August 7, includes a month homestay with a host family while attending language/culture school in Tokyo, followed by a month homestay with a second family in another part of Japan. Participants should be independent enough to travel alone by train from their Tokyo host home to language/culture school in another part of Tokyo. Your host family will show you where to catch the train and escort you the first day. Estimated cost: $4900-5300
The Four Week Homestay program, approx. July 9-August 7, is a month-long homestay with a Japanese family. The delegate will always be with the host family, who will accompany them to all activities and events.
Estimated cost: $3900-4300
Both programs include attending camp with your host brother or sister. Participants are accompanied to and from Japan by a chaperone who stays in Japan during the exchange. Japanese and American staff are also on-call, should a delegate need assistance while in Japan.
