CLASS INFORMATION

Parents are welcome to observe a lesson at any time to check on their child. Parents are not required to stay so they may want to go run errands, etc. However they are welcome to stay in the waiting area. The parent of a small child may be invited to participate in a lesson so they will be able to help the child practice at home.

SAFETY

Students are not allowed to be left unattended by a parent before or after class. Babysitting unattended children takes class time away from other students. Sharron Whipple Music Studio is not responsible for children until they enter the studio. Sharron Whipple Music Studiomust be notified by the child’s parent if a child will be picked up by anyone other than the parent. Sharron Whipple Music Studio assumes no liability for loss or injury to a student.

FORGOTTEN MUSIC

The student must bring his/her music and instrument if applicable to class each week.

PRACTICING

All students are REQUIRED to practice the week’s music assignment at least 6 days a week until the next lesson. Practicing only takes a few minutes each day. Parents must accept their responsibility in seeing that the student does the required practicing. Consistent lack of practicing is grounds for dismissal.

MISSED LESSONS

If you miss a lesson, no tuition credits or make-up lessons are given. ____ Sharron Whipple Music Studio is giving each student 2 FREE lessons, so the student may miss up to 2 classes without any cost to the parent. Therefore, please do not send sick children to a lesson. If you cannot make it, try to call in advance and cancel. The phone number is 352-7973. If the instructor is unable to teach a lesson, a different time will be arranged, a substitute teacher will teach, or there will be a reduction in tuition for the next month. A lesson calendar is included for the upcoming year. Students who are more than 10 minutes late to their lesson are considered to be no-shows and teachers may leave.

MUSIC PARTIES

Music partiesare held in December and May. These parties are fun and casual as the students play some of the music they have learned that semester. Parents and special guests are invited. Participation in music parties is not required but is encouraged.

SUMMER LESSONS

Lessons may be continued during the summer at the same tuition rate. A lesson time may be changed if arrangements are made at least 24 hours in advance. Charges will not be made for missed lessons if the studio is notified by email before invoices are sent out in the month lessons are missed.

LATE PAYMENT PENALTY

A $15 late payment penalty is added to any account that is due on the first of the month but not received by the twentieth of the month. Failure to remit the late payment and the current tuition payment before the end of the month may necessitate dismissal of the student. If the student is dismissed due to lack of payment, the last payment and late fee are still due by the first of the next month.

TERMINATION

If the student decides to quit taking lessons before the end of the course, the parent must notify the studio in writing or email. ____ The parent is obligated to pay the tuition through the end of the month in which the studio is notified in writing even if the student did not attend any classes that month. No longer attending music class does not constitute notification of termination.
