Qualification:
Bachelor of Public Health with minimum 2 years relevant experience or Master in Public Health with minimum 1 year relevant experience or Health Assistant/Staff Nurse with at least 3 years relevant experience. Prior experience of working in emergency situations and Cholera prevention and preparedness is preferred.
Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the job is to ensure proper implementation of Urban WASH for Cholera/AWD emergency and improvement/repair of WASH facilities in Lalitpur District Project, coordinate with staffs, related stakeholders including government agencies, write reports, documentation of project achievements and lessons learned.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
1.Planning, Budgeting , Reporting and Advocacy:
- Support to ED/PC/Team Leader to prepare detail annual plan and budget of the health and hygiene programs.
- Prepare and maintain project process documents and databases especially related to health and hygiene.
- Ensure all the feasibility studies, baseline studies and social survey are carried out timely to prepare detail annual plan and budget.
- Timely prepare and submit periodic reports and annual reports of health projects as per donor requirements to central office.
- Ensure all the training reports,case studies,learning documents on achievements and challenges and other relevant documents are prepared and disseminated.
- Ensure all the project database and information related to beneficiaries,community contributions,flow of materials to community,achievements of outputs etc are updated and maintained.
- Support to baseline,endline and other relevant research works related to health and hygiene issues.
- Support to lobbying,advocacy and campaign against social discrimination to influence policy and practice at local and national level.
2.Project Implementation,Monitoring and Followup
- Play a proactive role in planning, implementing and monitoring the cholera preparedness activities and hygiene promotion intervention in the working areas
- Manage health volunteers in a defined geographical area
- Provide capacity-building support and accompaniment to the implementation of health volunteers on hygiene promotion, including training, provision of appropriate IEC materials and mentoring
- Work closely with other sectoral teams to ensure an integrated approach is applied in addressing the Cholera preparedness activities, public health issues, gender and protectionneeds of the beneficiaries.
- Design,conduct and facilitate health and hygiene trainings,campaigns and related activities.
- Carry out monitoring and evaluation activities of health and hygiene components of the project areas
- Carry out regular field visit to monitor process and progress of project implementation and provide necessary support and follow-up activities to the communities
3.Coordinationand Communication
- Maintain close relationship and carry out necessary coordination with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders
- Identify and maintain close linkage with likeminded organizations
- Facilitate and participate in meeting and interaction with Health Post,FCHVs and other relevant stakeholders
- Liaison with government offices,local government units and other likeminded organizations especially health institutions for the coordination as and when necessary
- Maintain close coordination with all the staffs of UEMS
- Assist to publicize UEMS work and profile at different forums and networks
4.Administrative Works
- Ensure availability of necessary training materials,stationery and other necessary items for implementation of health and hygiene component of the project
- Assist to maintain database on community contribution,materials used and variance analysis
- Establish a linkage between Finance and Program and Facilitate to provide all the necessary documents
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by line manager
