PSRS

Users Guide

Windows based version

By Custom Data Processing, Inc.

After the installation on your PC, there should be a Ky PEF icon on your desktop.

To start the program double click on the Ky Pef icon.

A Login window will appear. You will need to signon to the CDP system to begin working with the PSRS system. Enter your user name and password. Program will then check for any updates to the table records, screen edits, or program version.

INQUIRY SCREEN:

Once you have signed on, the inquiry screen will come up (shown above).

From this screen you can request a screen (via CDS### or free-form function) or you can use the menu bar and request specific inquiries, screens, and records.

FILE CLIENT MTCE screen:

After signing on for the very first time after the program has been installed on your PC, the Client maintenance screen will pop up. You must fill in this screen before you can begin to use the program.

You’ll need to fill in the default values of the fields on this screen. These will help with the functions on the menu bar so that you will not have to always type in the client, district, county, clinic site, or computer site #. Once you have the fields filled, click on the update button. Please note that client will always be 30, and system designation will always be Q (should already be filled in for you when you call this screen up). After you click on Update, then click on Close to close this window.

NOTE: You only have to do this once (after the initial installation). These

settings will be saved and you will not have to call up this screen

again unless one of the defaults needs to change.

FILE menu:

The very first time you bring the program up after you signon, you can customize the program by setting some options as well as default values.

To do this click on file.

SETTING OPTIONS:

The Allow lower case selection if checked will allow lower case characters to

be entered. (This option is not recommended).

The Windows maximized selection if checked will always bring up windows

maximized (fills entire screen).

The Show Fayette County should be checked only if you are a Health

Department in Fayette County.

The Pop-up status line messages selection if checked means that a pop-up

window will display when you get a status line message (This option is

STRONGLY recommended).

The Use Word for printing selection if checked will use Microsoft Word for

doing any printing that you may do from the inquiry screen.

The Bring up bridge for printer selection if checked will bring up bridge so

that your printer will work while you are using this program.

The Client maintenance selection has been discussed on a previous page.

The Exit window selection will close out the program.

The Open file selection works just like windows explorer on your PC (ie will

let you search for files on your PC and LAN).

The Save tables selection will save any tables that you have built for your

maintenance screens.

PATIENT menu:

Now you are ready to start using the menu drop downs. The drop down menu for Patients is shown below.

Select which area of the Patient portion of the PSRS system you want to work with (Appointments, Registration, Encounter Entry, WIC, Immunizations, Alert Code, or Update) to bring up the menu associated with that particular portion of the system. Please note: if you select the Update, you will not get another menu, you will receive a window asking for the patient Id, after which you will transmit and you will receive the patient maintenance screen.

there is another menu for that selection. Click on that selection and the

additional menu will appear.
