1. WETALC
Western Tennessee Academic Library Consortium (WETALC) meeting will be Saturday, March 29, 2003 in the library. Contact Tom Mendina for more information.
2. Supplies
Weekly Supply Request forms will be monitored more closely to make sure that departments are not hogging supplies. We should not be ordering supplies that we already have available. Departments are asked to work with Barbara Thomas in making sure that weekly supply requests reflect real needs. It is possible that the library will be giving back money due to budget cuts. Everyone is asked to help save on supply expenses.
3. Revised Library Statistic Worksheet
The LAC discussed a revised worksheet to be used in recording libraries’ statistics.
After reviewing the revised form the LAC was asked to forward corrections to Betsy Park.
The intent is for everyone to use the same worksheet once it is finalized.
4. March 27 and 28 Convocation
The official dates for the University’s 90th year Anniversary Celebration are March 27 and 28 2003. Convocation is March 29 with the procession starting in the library and ending in the Michael Rose Theatre. Faculty robing will take place in the library. Large departments/units on campus are requested to have two faculty members and a Chair to march in the ceremony and smaller units one faculty member and a Chair. All tenure track faculty are encouraged to participate.
James Singleton - Everyone is reminded not to post signs, posters, and pictures
on the walls and doors in the libraries without first checking
with him. Book tape and other adhesives have been known for
stripping the paint from the walls.
Chris Matz - Periodicals Cancellation Project Forum is March 28, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in room 226. Questions about the project should be directed to him.
John Evans - Systems is looking at an energy consumption conservation plan that will help shut down computers when they are not in use.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:08 a.m. The next scheduled LAC meeting will be
Tuesday, April 1, 2003.
