How an online class works:

What you need: a computer, laptop, tablet, kindle or smartphone…any device with a camera and a microphone so that you can interact with the class.

Materials: a materials list will be sent to you once you register by the teacher or staff. If you don’t get one right away, please call or email Wallkill River School and we will send you one promptly. (845) 457-2787 or

How it works: after your register, you will be sent a ZOOM message inviting you to a ZOOM class at Wallkill River School. Just click the link (string of numbers highlighted in blue) and it will ask to download the app onto your device. Allow it, and then you are a set up for the class!

On the date and time of the class, just log in using the link we sent you. The instructor or staff will already have the class in progress, and you will just be joining in.

Make sure your mic is on (lower right corner of your bar) and your camera is on and you can interact with the teacher and other artists!

If you get into a pickle, call us and we will walk you through the process (845) 457-2787

Special Promotion: For the month of February we are offering a free online class! Many of our teachers will continue this promotion through the year so that you can try out the system and see if it works for you without having to commit the cost of a class.

To take advantage of this promotion, just register as you normally would, and select the “try online class for free” button from the registration menu. Not all our teachers or classes are online so it is only offered on certain pages and classes.

How do I participate in an online class? Will the teacher see me? Yes, you can talk to the teacher, other participants and show your work to the teacher or whole class. The teacher can offer you feedback and show you techniques and demonstrations.

Welcome to the future!
