Job Title: Assistant to Worship Director – New Life Downtown
Accountable To: Worship Director – New Life Downtown
Status: Part-time. Hourly <20 hour per week
Sunday 7:00am-1:00pm (only if scheduled to lead worship)
Weekdays - Flexible
Job Titles Supervised: Volunteers
Purpose: To serve New Life Downtown by providing administrative support for the facilitation of worship services by supporting the worship team and volunteers.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Respond to general email inquiries about the New Life Downtown Worship Team.
· Assist with the Dream Team application process.
· Assist with the Worship audition process.
· Schedule rehearsals for the Worship team.
· Update Planning Center Services database app.
· Manage distribution lists for the team.
· Manage correspondence to the team.
· Oversee scheduling for the worship and AV/Tech Team utilizing Planning Center Services.
· Input lyrics, announcements, videos, etc. for Sunday morning services, utilizing Pro Presenter.
· Cooperate with New Life Worship staff in the organization, tracking and maintaining of all current musical files, both manually and electronically.
· Keep music updated and accessible.
· Establish good rapport with congregation, staff and volunteers.
· Meet with Worship team members regularly to connect, care and encourage them.
· Support the volunteers by providing enthusiastic encouragement, ongoing administrative assistance and additional communication when directed.
· Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested, as part of weekly hours allotment.
· Assist staff with special services and events when requested.
· Demonostrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church and New Life Downtown.
· Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Downtown.
· Perform other duties when requested to do so by the Worship Director – New Life Downtown.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience: 2 – 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a church or ministry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Demonstrate a servant heard, with spiritual maturity and sensitivity.
· Proven administrative and organizational skills
· Show proficiency in computer skills including use of MS Office and familiarity with church database systems. (Preferably Planning Center Online)
· Possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with personal and ministry information.
· Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling ministry information
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
· Be detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and projects
· Be able to work well under pressure and time constraints, utilizing multi-tasking skills and assessment of the priority of the moment, in an environment of changing priorities and demands.
· Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner
· Present as positive and personable with caring and encouraging disposition.
