Scope/Description of Work:

The Visual Analytics team in the Scalable Analytics Research Organization (R62) of the Computer and Analytic Science Research Group (R6) requires contractor support to perform research and development in the areas of visualization, visual analytics, advanced interaction technology, mixed initiative analysis, and dynamic defense.

The Software Integration Engineer contributes to and/or leads all aspects of project/program hardware and/or software integration from design through implementation and the maintenance of upgrading existing hardware and software integration.

  • Include systems engineering tasks, to include analysis, design, specification, documentation, and/or implementation of hardware and software solutions, and creation of project documentation for design, integration, test, and implementation phases.
  • Supports entire system life cycle development, including requirements definition, design/prototyping, system integration, testing and validation.
  • Participates in project definition, trade-off and design activities, as well as prepares, reviews, and evaluates system documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures.
  • Participates in end-to-end component and system testing and integration.
  • Development of prototypes of higher-order and cross-platform analytics, dynamic analytic management capabilities, and mixed initiative analysis constructs.
  • This work will demonstrate how these capabilities can be integrated to dramatically increase analysis Requesting, documenting, and managing a number of data flows into various cloud environments to provide end-to-end large-scale data processing and cloud management.
  • This includes the integration, testing, and transition of multiple cloud technologies.
  • Investigate and develop new "moving target" (MT) cyber-defense techniques and integrate various management functions and supporting analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of three (3) years’ experience supporting government software, software system, and/or software/hardware systems development projects with multiple architectures and platforms in an integrated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data flows, integrating technologies, and maintaining system environments on mid- to largescale government IT and/or computing projects
  • Demonstrated experience designing applications with and developing interfaces between some or all of the following: Accumulo/HBase, Infospheres Streams, Tomcat, JMS, Hadoop/MapReduce
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Four (4) years of programming experience on projects with full lifecycle software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
