The Oaks Corners Fire Department Annual Golf Tournament

Post Office Box 54, Oaks Corners, NY 14518

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. All participants in “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament shall be registered on the official entry form. The entry form must include all players’ names, mailing address and telephone number for the entry to be valid and accepted by the Tournament Committee. Any omissions, false names or addresses, or other information that is deemed unacceptable by the Tournament Committee may result in the refusal of the team to participate and the minimum entry fee required may not be refunded(See Rule 2). Entry forms must be filled out for purposes of insurance indemnification for the hole-in-one company.

2. Entry forms must be accompanied by a minimum of one-half the total entry fee in order to guarantee a slot in the tournament. This minimum deposit will be considered a non-refundable deposit. If, for any reason, there is any cancellation prior to the deadline date, any monies above and beyond the minimum deposit will be refunded to the team captain. There will be no refunds of any monies after the entry deadline date that is posted on the tournament flyer.

3. United States Golf Association (USGA) rules will govern play for “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament, except where modified by local/tournament scramble format rules (See Rule 4).

4. “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament is a four-person scramble format. This mean that all four team members tee off on each hole, then decide which tee shot they like best, and mark that spot with a tee or ball marker. The other team members pick up their tee shots and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot.

5. Putts need to be made within three (3) inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.

6. If the ball that is chosen to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.), the rough or out of bounds, the team cannot drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough, even if relief is within one club length away.

7. Scoring is on the “honor” system. All teams shall score their round honestly and according to USGA scoring regulations. A “stroke” shall be defined as any swing of a club that strikes the golf ball.

8. Male participants will tee off from the white tees and female participants may tee off from the red tees, UNLESS otherwise specified by hole-in-one rules and regulations contracted for the event by the indemnification company contracted by “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament. Rules associated with tee-off requirements of any attempt at a hole-in-one prize will be conspicuously posted in a fashion that is accessible to all tournament participants.

9. Rules and regulations governing the verification of, and claiming of prizes associated with any hole-in-one contests contracted by “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament shall be determined by the indemnification company underwriting the hole-in-one prizes prior to the start of the tournament, and these rules and regulations shall be present at the tournament site in writing. Any participant may request to review these rules at any time during the tournament.

10. Any participant or team in “The Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament reported to have performed, be in the act of, or seen defacing course or tournament property, or causing a reported disturbance, may be asked to leave the course and the tournament by either the golf course or Tournament Staff. No refunds will be given in these instances, without exception.

11. If there is a tie between two or more teams after all score cards have been verified by the Tournament Official, the Tie Breaker will consist of the comparison of scores of the tied teams starting with the first Par 5 hole (starting at Hole #1), until all Par 5 holes have been exhausted. If the winner is not determined after this process, all Par 4 holes, beginning with the first (starting at Hole #1), will be compared until a winner is decided. If no winner is determined after this process, all Par 3 holes, beginning with the first (starting at Hole #1), will be compared. If no winner is determined after this process, the winner will be decided by a coin flip of the tied teams.

12. The Oaks Corners Fire Department, Inc., its members and officers, the Big Oak Public Golf Course, and its management and employees, shall not be held responsible or liable for any damage, theft, or otherwise criminally negligent acts against participants’ personal belongings or property while participating in the “Oaks Corners Classic” Golf Tournament.

13. The decisions of “The Oaks Corners Classic” Tournament Official and the Tournament Committee are final. All disputes shall be made before turning in scorecards to the Tournament Official.
