Learn to Hunt Quail Workshop
Buena Vista Wildlife Area is hosting a FREE “Learn to Hunt
Quail” workshop for college-aged students who are interested
in learning to hunt this native game bird.
Selected participants will be required to attend a mandatory meeting that will take place Friday,
October 3rd, 2014 on the UW-Stevens Point campus to prepare the participants for the mentored hunt.
The quail hunt will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at the Buena Vista Wildlife Area (approximately 20 miles southwest of Stevens Point).
There will be one mentor for every workshop participant. Experienced dog trainers will provide well-trained gundogs to hunt over. A small game hunting license is not required to participate in this workshop. Firearms (if necessary), ammunition, and lunch will be provided for each participant at no charge. Orange safety clothing (hats, vests, jackets, etc.) will also be available to loan to participants.
