Meeting Minutes – February 4, 2016

I.  Welcome & Introductions

·  Team Leader Welcome and New Member Introductions

o  Ken Bishop introduces himself as the Emergency Manager of WFBMC. With Richard Moore having left, the Triad SMAT staff have fallen into the ICS structure for team operations.

§  Corey Roberts – Planning Section Chief/Incident Commander

§  Elaina Skarote – Operations Section Chief

§  Jerry Tysinger – Logistics Sections Chief

§  Alexis Lorenzin – Financial Section Chief

o  All team correspondents need to go to Corey Roberts

o  Welcome to the Team made by Corey Roberts.

o  Corey introduces the Ralph Newcomb and Ben Wooten, new members of the team and operators of the Cone Health CISU.

II.  Announcements

·  SMAT Annual Training Calendar is now available!

o  The Triad SMAT Training Calendar is now available and the dates will be posted at www.triadpreparedness.org under the resources and sent out in the newsletter in the upcoming weeks.

o  There will be EMT Continuing Education Hours offered on Saturdays during odd numbered months. The specific dates will be released on the website and on the newsletter.

·  Overview of the CPR Course held on January 30th 2016

o  The CPR course held last Saturday went very well. Although there were a limited number of participants we want to continue hosting these trainings. If you have not received your CPR card from that class please contact Elaina Skarote ().

·  SMAT Team for MDH deployment.

o  The Mobile Disaster Hospital is looking for logistics personnel to train on the MDH for potential deployments. The training is currently scheduled for May 3rd-6th. Interested volunteers should contact Corey Roberts () for more information.

·  SMAT Monthly Newsletter Registration

o  We have begun our monthly newsletter. The newsletter gives team members updates on upcoming events and current news about the healthcare community. If you are interested you can find the sign up form on our website (www.triadpreparedness.org) under the resources tab. We are always welcoming comments or concerns regarding our information sharing.

·  ServNC System Clean Up

o  Over the next few months, we will begin to purge team members who are listed in ServNC but are not active in any way or responding to any email messages. Pleaese remember to choose the “Message Received” option in emails to acknowledge that you get the ServNC messages and wish to remain an active member of the team.

·  Meals Ready to Eat for Team members

o  The Triad SMAT Team had some MRE’s available for team members, which were distributed out (all now taken).

·  ICS 300 and 400 classes next week, a few spots are still available!

o  The Triad Healthcare Preparedness Coalition is hosting an ICS 300 and 400 classes the week of February 8th 2016. If you are interested please sign up on NC TERMS. There are only a limited number of seats available. That ICS 300 and 400 class is being instructed by David Holder. David Holder is the assistant emergency manager at Wake Forest Baptist Health

·  Metrolina requests team to assist with Race in May 20-22 and 27-29

o  The Metrolina SMAT team has been asked to assist with medical coverage at two of the NASCAR races coming up. They are requesting assistance in Charlotte on May 20-22 and May 27-29. If you have previously participated or interested in participating please contact Corey Roberts at . When we have more information regarding the assistance we will send a formal request out via ServNC.

·  Video and Teleconferencing now available for team meetings

o  We will now allow people to call into our Team Meetings via WebEx, which is an online meeting platform. If you are interested in calling into our team meetings you can find that information under News and Events at www.triadpreparedness.org. We ask that this not replace coming to team meetings, rather this is for those that have conflicting schedules. The staff would still like to see everyone face to face at least twice a year.

·  Next SMAT Meeting will be held April 7th 2016

o  The meeting will start at 7pm and will again be available via WebEx.

III.  Other Announcements

·  Open Floor

o  Bob Annecherico – On April 2nd and 3rd, the NC DMAT team will be hosting a training at the Mocksville Warehouse. Anyone interested in attending is welcome and can speak to Bob about more of the details.
