The State Dance Festival 2013 – In the Moment
INFORMATION and PERMISSION NOTE: 9th August
Dear Parents
As you are aware our Junior Boys Dance Group was selected to perform at the State Dance Festival which will take place at the Seymour Centre in Sydney in September on the two evenings of Tuesday 3rd September and Friday 6th September 2013. Tuesday involves a rehearsal and Friday involves a performance in the afternoon. This additional Friday afternoon performance is a free show of the Friday performances put on for all of other performers to view and enjoy.
Teachers accompanying the students include, Mrs Cain, Mr Baxter, Ms Palamara, Mrs Slee and 2 parents. The six accompanying adults will remain with the children all day and until after the shows. This school has participated in State Dance many times under Mrs Cain’s leadership. This organisation is similar to other years which ran extremely smoothly and the students had a worthwhile experience. You will find further travel organisation below and a permission note.
TUESDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER
We will leave school at 10.00am and travel to Windsor Station by private vehicle. We will need about 3-4 parent volunteers to drive the dance group to Windsor Station on Tuesday morning. Please let Mrs Cain know if you are able to assist. We will travel to the Seymour Centre, Sydney by train. The cost of the travel will be paid by the school. Students will need to be collected after the performances on Tuesday night from about 8.10pm.
Food/Dinner:
Please pack recess and lunch in a small backpack (labelled with their name) with plenty of water to drink. They will need approximately $10.00 to purchase food for dinner due to the length of the day. For dinner we will accompany the students on a short walk to Broadway Food Court to give them the opportunity to purchase some food. NB: $10.00 for each day should be plenty.
Costumes:
All boys are to be dressed in jeans, black boots and t-shirts for the performance days. Please include a warm jumper for the evenings.
FRIDAY 6th SEPTEMBER
We will leave school at 12.00pm and travel to Windsor Station by private vehicle. Once again, we will need about 3-4 parent volunteers to drive the dance group to Windsor Station on the Friday morning. Please let Mrs Cain know if you are able to assist.

Pick-Up After the Performance Arrangements
The dance item, Rhinestone Cowboy is scheduled early on both of the night programs. If parents are not watching the show, children may be picked up from about 8.10pm at the back entrance of the centre. If parents have tickets to watch the show, finishing time will be advised and students will remain in the care of the teachers until they are picked up. We would appreciate prompt pick up at the end of the show.

If you are not purchasing tickets to attend the performances, you must designate an adult who will be responsible for picking up your child after the performances.

PERMISSION NOTE
I give permission for my child______of class______to attend the State Dance Festival on Tuesday 3rd September and on Friday 6th September, 2013.
I understand this involves travel by:
· private vehicle to Windsor Train Station on both Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th September 2013.
· train travel from Windsor to Redfern Station on both Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th September 2013.
· a short walk from Redfern Station to the Seymour Centre on both Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th September 2013.
· a short walk from the Seymour Centre to Broadway Food Court for dinner in the early evening on both Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th September 2013.
I understand that I will need to pick up my child after the performances or designate an adult to be responsible for my child if I am not present at the performance.
